The simplistic yet stunning art design conveys the emotion and power of the poetry wonderfully. I can't decide which I like more, the poetry or the art. I'm no english major, but in my head I think it's written from the perspective of someone in an abusive relationship (hence the, "When you pretend you are giving me a massage, I always pretend I love being a carpet), but what do I know? Anyhow, the minimalist illustrations are truly beautiful and represent the ideas and feelings in a way that flashy colors or bold lines never could. Marvelous.
