Here Are 23 Canceled TV Shows And You Decide Whether They Deserve To Come Back
Nowadays, we are able to watch countless TV shows, yet we handpick what to watch in our precious free time. Because we’ve invested time and emotions into a show, the wait for a new season gets kind of annoying, but what is even more annoying is that sometimes they get canceled and the lives of some amazing shows are cut short.
In this poll, the canceled shows are taken from your comments under a Bored Panda post that asked which canceled shows deserve to be continued.
Do these TV shows deserve to continue?

Almost Human
Terra Nova
This was a great show, they need to go back! With the same cast! Watched it several times!
Veronica Mars
It was 18 years ago, not like I would watch this now. Back they it was good.
Raised By Wolves
This show was amazing. I was super disappointed when it got cancelled.
Scorpion
Deserves to go in the bin. The amount of misinformation on how stuff works in this was insane.
Wayward Pines
The Oa
This was a very high minded series, involving the notion of parallel universes and the possibility of traveling between them. What was so great about this was that it was more spiritual than scifi and focused on the relationships between the travelers.
Lovecraft Country
Dc’s Legends Of Tomorrow
Another one that took a season or two to get their feet under them but once they did was a lot of fun and kept getting more fun. They started to fall into the crossover episode trap but veered away after awhile. But it became a revolving door for the characters from the other DC shows to pop in & out while waiting for episodes about them in the other DC shows.
United States Of Tara
I like Toni Collette in a lot of things, but this is not one of them.
I'm still sad they cancelled Pushing Daisies. And also Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles
"Kaos". I just loved it, and I learned there won't be a second season. F*ck you, Netflix.
Pushing Daisies, Kaos, Those About to Die...and the list goes on because producers and networks insist on instant gratification from the viewership numbers. Looking at you, Netflix.
I'm beginning to wonder if it's time for script writers to stop ending series on cliff hangers. Instead, wrap things up well enough that it has a sense of completion, but leave some dangling ends that can be tugged upon to unravel future tales.
Still pïssed that Angel had to finish the way it did..... And Deadwood..... why the fück did that end like that..... it was one of the best....
Timeless maybe could have been on the list. It only had 2 seasons but, it was fantastic.. They used real events (Time travel) I found myself learning things about history.. So I guess slap stick and Reality shows will always win.
Thank you to the creator of the polls on this one because for the first Time ever, I felt a good job was done. I appreciated that the question wasn't just yes or no but also, I don't know I haven't seen this. Because that is what the majority of people voted. Good job Poll writer
Lockwood &Co, Dead Boy Detectives, Renegade Nell - these were amazing and totally deserved more seasons.
For me it was Firefly everybody knows that was SUCH a mistake that it even got a movie due to fan pressure... Another show that never got more seasons was an anime (obviously not part of BP culture) called Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash... It was SO real...an actual, serious take on a fantasy setting. Just the scene of how horrifying it was to kill a single goblin and having characters die and seeing the rest deal with the loss and some ptsd was refreshing! The serious tone was also spliced in with fun and enjoyable life moments between everyone. I am still baffled as to why it did not get more seasons despite being very popular. Meanwhile random pedo bait shows get 6 seasons or some s**t. I guess here are ALLOT OF Epsteins in their industry...
There should have been an option for "It finished well. Continuing would have spoiled it" For example, Supernatural had a good ending and was right to finish, but the 15 seasons were great and I couldn't in good conscience, vote that it didn't "Deserve" to continue.
"The Orville" deserves another season. Maybe, then a 5th, depends on the 4th. It was said that next year, a new season would be made. Let's wait if it delivers...
Shoutout to Prodigal son and Julie and the Phantoms, would have loved more eps of both
As of now, the majority of the polls show "Never watched it" as the majority. That in and of itself tells you why they were cancelled.
I'm going back a bit, but " ALIEN NATION". Incredible show, incredible actors. It was cancelled after 1 season but came back as several made for TV mini movies.
If you look at the percentage of people who never even heard of these shows, it's pretty easy to guess why they were cancelled. It's not like everyone watched, but 80% didn't like it. It's 80% that never even heard of it.
I still don't understand why "Forever" was cancelled. The relationship between Ioan Gruffudd and Judd Hirsch's characters was one of the sweetest things I've ever seen (father / son but with a twist) and the plots were good. Only one season was not enough and I'm still bitter!
I have seen about half of these. The ones I didn't know anything about I just skipp skipped over. I don't get why some people are voting them down? That seems unnecessary when you already get to vote on saying they deserved to be cancelled.
Pushing Daisies. So sad that show got canceled. Same with American Gods.
I would add HBO's "Watchmen" to this list. We NEEDED at least one more season. It was one of the best shows of the past decade. Although in fairness, it wasn't canceled. The creative team decided not to move forward with another season.
Only one show on the list I ever watched, most I hadn't even heard of them
Surprised to not see 'Vinyl' here. Truly one of the best one-season shows I have seen! 1970s music scene drama created by Mick Jagger and Martin Scorcese. It's great!
I've only ever seen My Name is Earl from this list. I guess I don't watch much TV.
Son of Zorn needed a second season. I really wanted to see what happened, stupid cliffhangers.
I was so sad when I found out One Of Us Is Lying was cancelled- the last series ended on such a huge cliffhanger, I have to know what happens next!!
This thread solved my curiosity about why shows are canceled… There were four or five very well deserving shows that should’ve continued - I could not believe how many people have not seen them. That is simply it - it’s not shown on the right viewing platform. Such a shame…
You don't even have "Westworld" on this list? One of the best shows, far better than most of the ones on this list. I'd do anything to know what Nolan and Lisa Joy intended for the final season. Curse you, HBO!
I remember one show, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. The TV series ended up having the same end as the show in the series. I wish that one continued.
I only seen 4 out of the 23. I heard of at least half of these.
Judging bt percentage of "never watched", makes sense most were cancelled.
Lockwood for me was on par with Firefly getting canceled. Frikkin Netflix.
I enjoyed Dark Matter and hated that it ended on a cliffhanger. Fun science fiction shows not called Star Trek aren't very common and usually don't last, sadly. The Expanse ended well, but I wish they had continued to fill the gap between the sixth and seventh books. I'm just thankful it ran as long as it did though. I'd love to see a reboot of Babylon 5, but I'm guessing that despite JMS's tireless work, it will never happen.
John Doe. Tru Calling. Joan of Arcadia. Dead Like Me. The Pretender. Forever. Pushing Daisies.
got a feeling most of people are just answering if they liked a show or not, or didn't see it. a very imperfect poll.
Whether these shows deserved to be cancelled and whether they deserve to come back now are totally different questions. Firefly probably warranted another season. Do I want a new season with the surviving original characters now? Probably not.
I feel like a lot of these shows are too drama filled that they are simply boring. Feels like you are watching the same thing over and over again. Dark, gloomy, drama, etc. They all have the same vibe and there isn't anything unique about them. Plots vary a bit but kind of like popular books in a genre, they follow the same formula and at some point you realize you have read the same story a hundred times told in a different way. The biggest reason why I stopped reading young adult books when I was a teen was that the formula is so repetitive. They all merge at some point. Feel like superhero stuff has finally reached that point with audiences as well.
Looking at the results of the polls, I can see why most of these were canceled. So many folks answered that they didn't know because they never watched. It really had nothing to do with the quality of the show. People just never tuned in, so ratings were low.
I wish Better Off Ted had at least one more season. I miss Phil and Lem!
20 out of 23 I've NEVER heard of/watched. Are these all USA TV shows? Other Countries have popular show too, you know. Even so, I've watched MANY USA TV shows, but not 20 of these. Feeling my age.
