I'll jump on!
I am from Canada. People say it is "pretty much the same as the US," but trust me, it's not. Totally different country, totally different culture.
My favorite thing is that I grew up knowing American history, watching their politics, hearing their news. Most the people here haven't ever heard of Newfoundland and Labrador.🤣
Americans are no oddity in Canada, so it's hilarious to get treated like a foreigner here. Everyone thinks it's so cool that you "come from a different countryyyy!!!" Haha, yes, but I lived an hour from your border my whole life so besides a slight accent, you're not going to notice a difference.😂

Agreed, I don't think of Canadians are much different than Americans, more liberal yes but their history is similar.
