Getting inked is an art that has been passed down from ancient times. It is just like magic that stays with you to the grave. These days, getting matching tattoos has become a trend, especially with the people you are closest to. So, finding small, simple brother and sister tattoos or funky sibling tattoos is quite common, and getting them done is a great way to mark down your connection.
Are Brother and Sister Tattoos a Good Idea?
If there ever was a bond worthy of being etched on your skin (literally) forever (also literally), it’s that shared by family members - brother and sister. So, getting brother and sister tattoos or siblings’ tattoos is not just a good idea but a brilliant one. If you are confused about getting them, we would suggest you go for it. After all, YOLO, right?
Now, you are probably wondering what they should depict exactly. Birth dates might be a bit too bland, childhood memories irrelevant, but something like matching tattoos of characters from Bob’s Burgers is undying. To help you choose the perfect designs, we’ve compiled a list full of matching brother and sister tattoos, sibling tattoos, and more that’ll certainly in(k)spire you!
So, what kind of tattoos should you expect to find for siblings on this list? Well, first of all, loads and loads of tattoo ideas draw their inspiration from various cartoons and movies! And not just some cartoons and movies, but only the legendary ones like The Simpsons, Demon Slayer, and so on. You know, the stuff that is as undying as ink.
Another category of matching tattoos for brother and sister is a shared quote, phrase, or saying. Something that’s meaningful to the two of you but might raise questions from those unaware, making it all the more cool!
There are also tattoo ideas that are original, unique, and absolutely authentic just to you, like cute, small, simple brother and sister tattoos or funny siblings tattoos. But you know how it is — those original ones also took their inspiration from something!
Okay, ready to check out this glorious bro and sis matching tattoos we’ve rounded up here? Sure you are! Keep on scrolling, for the designs are still a smidgen down further. Once you are there, vote for the best sibling tattoos and share this article with them!

Makes me kind of sad XD I'm adopted and I have one sibling who is my parents' biological child. To say that we do not get along would be an understatement. My sister is my biggest abuser in my life. She's a toxic narcissist just like our mother. I wish I had even a decent relationship with her, but it's 100% antagonistic from her to me (going from me to her, I try to live and let live). I have two biological sisters, but have never had any contact with my biological family. Matching tattoos with a beloved sibling would be wonderful :(
My mum has a tattoo for each of my brothers who have died. Their 'symbols' are a dragonfly and a butterfly, beginning because the eldest heard the story 'waterbugs and dragonflies' shortly before his death (and was read at his funeral) to help understand that although he wouldn't be here in the same form as in life, he would still be there for us in another form (ie from heaven). Then my youngest brother (knowing he had the same disability and a likely shorter prognosis) took on the symbol of a butterfly in a similar, changing form idea. She wants to get tattoos for each of us now, but not sure what. My sister's would be a lion, as she has already got a strong connection with them (her nickname is a variation of her name and lion) but my other brother and I have no idea what ours would be. I don't think either of us has a strong connection with anything. I don't even have plans for a tattoo of my own as I don't like anything enough that I would want to be permanently on me, let alone
being tattooed permanently on my mum. At one point I think mum would have chosen a giraffe for me, but I don't care about them as much as I used to, so I think it would be weird.
