There are plenty of reasons why a company might use social media. Increasing brand awareness and website traffic, generating leads, and managing their reputation are just a few of them. But whatever its intentions are, a business uses Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms for its own gain. And people see right through it. So when nonsensical corporate BS appears on their feed, they often respond to it, reminding its authors that they're not fooling anyone.
Twitter account "Brands Getting Owned" is the place to go if you want to check out these savage roasts. It shares fan-submitted screenshots of exchanges companies wish to forget, and as its bio says, tries to dismantle capitalism one L at a time. Continue scrolling for the pics.

Probably one of the biggest corporate social media fails we covered here at Bored Panda was the time Burger King said that "Women belong in the kitchen." Do you remember? They picked the best time for this phrase, too. The company tweeted it during International Women's Day when everyone was celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women across the globe.
Burger King's tweet caused quite a spectacle—it was described as a misogynistic and outdated remark towards women's role in society.
The company's social media team shortly followed the tweet with an explanation that their aim was to draw attention to the fact that only 20% of professional chefs in the UK are women and that they are under-represented in the culinary industry—they have decided to use International Women’s Day as an opportunity to advertise their culinary scholarship which offers financial assistance to women who work at Burger King and aspire to an academic degree in culinary arts.
But it was already too late. Eventually, the original “controversial” tweet was deleted and Burger King has issued an apology.
Assuming that's the hospital itself replying, what more do you need to learn, you charged the guy $39k
I'm from Australia, so I don't know for sure, but apparently in the US, if you ask for an itemised hospital bill, they somehow miraculously remove *quite a lot* of the fees. Presumably, this is what New York Presbyterian were going to do. You're right though, It wouldn't be hard to find out who he is. How many 34-year-olds named Joshua had a stroke and were charged $39K?

The US being ranked a first world country is a joke itself. A bad one.

We are commanded to earn a living with our work: "Make it your goal to lead a quiet life, to take care of your own affairs, & to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you. Thus, you will live properly in the sight of those who are ‘outside’ & you will lack nothing." 1 Thes 4:11,12 "You know how you should imitate us: we did not behave as rebels among you, & we did not eat bread from anyone’s hand without paying for it. We were in labor & hardship, working night & day, so that we might not burden any of you... For even when we were with you, we gave you this instruction: “Anyone who will not work should not eat either.” Yet we hear about some among you who live in rebellion, not working at all but interfering in other people’s lives. By our Lord Jesus Christ, we command & exhort those who live this way to work quietly & to eat their own bread." 2 Thes 3:7-12

FIne - Making a hellacious profit off the pain and suffering and illness of the most vulnerable ... that's exactly why we need public healthcare with well paid public healthcare providers. Charging $700 for a bottle of $8 (Retail so like $4 wholesale) disinfectant spray should be criminal.
My ex had a massive stroke and we got a bill for $80,000 from the hospital. I thought it was so absurd to send a bill like that. I literally laughed. Like, who has money to pay that? Then went and applied for assistance for him the next day. Smh It’s crazy.
In case anyone is unclear: the whole “take it to private channels“ thing is pure b******t. It’s the first step towards BURYING the issue.
Here's a thought: How do you expect them to continue to provide medical care?
I'm a nurse, and "V" is more than likely correct. Having a stroke at that age is extremely rare an individuals who do not drink, do drugs, and are highly compliant with medical treatments for their illnesses. Paying the staff to take care of you in the hospital is expensive. Medical tests are expensive. Keeping the lights on in a hospital is expensive. Yes physicians make a healthy salary, but they also pay through the nose in malpractice insurance, and student loan repayment... Not to mention, they're paid on their knowledge and expertise (one would hope). Everyone complaining about how much physicians make is welcome to go to medical school themselves. As far as the cost of American healthcare, yes it is extremely expensive. The insured are paying for the uninsured who do not pay their medical bills (I'm not saying that uninsured never pay their bills). If this gentleman had a stroke and only received a $39,000 bill, he either only had an ER visit and was not admitted (extremely unlikely), or he is already had a massive charitable write off for a bill that was likely in the $500,000 range...and he still is bitching. I've seen what UK ambulances (universal healthcare) carry in the way of life-saving equipment and personnel when called to the scene of a dying patient. You may as well have someone call a cab to take you dying body to the hospital. It'll get there faster and be more instrumental in saving your life. I for one, would rather know that a fully equipped US ambulance with lifesaving medications on board which will be administered by highly trained paramedics is going to come save my ass... Even if I have to pay a fat bill for the privilege.
So you are saying the patients are paying HUGE medical bills and the physicians are still being paid poorly? I don't understand. What is stopping the physicians from billing him 40k instead of 39k? It's not such a big difference, but it would make a huge difference for the physician with all the patients they have. If you are already ruining the patient's financies, why wouldn't you bill just a little more and have a huge salary as a result? Paying so much for medical help is ridiculous, but still having underpaid doctors is even more ridiculous. You could have get rid of one problem (underpaid doctors), but instead you still maintain both problems (underpaid doctors AND ruined patients. Also, I wonder how is it possible that dozens of other countries have all of thisese expenses - life saving instruments, keeping the lights on in a hospital, etc. - yet still the patients pay nothing or very reasonable money.

I get my brain surgeries there, it's a great hospital but god is it expensive. How do other countries Drs become rich?
Anaesthesists get most but they are all well-paid. Some countryies you have a private/public system where the doc wears both hats and sets prices for one but fixed tariffs for others... so working many hours for private is $$$.
Load More Replies...That's all they charged you? Not bad bro. Get Blue Cross and Blue Shield, $75 a month, your bill would have been about $600
600??? That's waaaaaaaaaaay less than 39000...

Load More Replies...There are plenty of ways you can screw up on social media. Nasty comments, rude tweets, a timeline full of misspellings and other faux pas; the possibilities are endless. And they're usually easy enough to fix or delete without it seeming like the end of the world. If you're a regular person.
Not so much for those big business accounts. Of course, corporations are people too—but they're people under constant scrutiny by the jury of the Internet. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
This is deflection from the fact that a small number of corporations are the major polluters by trying to make it seem like it's a personal responsibility issue
Remember a few years ago when Kroger sold off a bunch of their convenience stores that they couldn't maintain but said it was to "focus on their grocery stores" ??? How's that working out Kroger?
Better even than telling them to go to hell, just don't use their service. If they're unethical but you use them anyway your just encouraging the behavior.
$15 per hour is more than we get in Britain for minimum wage. But then we do have a Health Service which from what I have read on here is worth so damn much, a lot more than a couple of dollars
I would have preferred a little less capital letters, still: He/she nailed it!
SO many people are already parroting this line from right wing politicians, it’s so frustrating.
Vermont is in the top ten highest minimum wages in the country. It was an ignorant move to attack Sanders over this. 'Just Amazon being terrified of organized labor (aka unions).

That happens literally across the board. It’s the corporate version of an influencer/youtuber posting a video of them doing some sort of charity.
What's even more ironic is that Stadia is a product of Google. You know, the search engine that almost everyone uses...

Get a real job then if you can’t afford the higher costs.
