Bride Invites Lonely Grannies To Be Her Bridesmaids

Something new, something borrowed, something blue and certainly something old.

Her wedding day was without a doubt the happiest day in the life of Doriana Miclea. On one hand, she was marrying her sweetheart Eugen and on the other she had 4 grandmothers by her side as bridesmaids, to help see her through this special day.

Doriana is a Board member of the Never Alone-Friends of the Elderly association in Romania and has been a volunteer for lonely elderly for years. So, on her big day, she handed over the task and joyous privilege of getting her dressed and ready for the wedding to 4 old ladies closest to her heart. The grannies took their bridesmaids’ role very seriously and turned Doriana into one of the most beautiful brides.

The preparation of the bride is an important step in every wedding, because it is the first moment when the young woman sees herself as a future wife, and sharing this private moment with someone is a testament of confidence and love. Honoured to be part of this moment, the grannies took on the role of bridesmaids and used the dress, perfume, veil, jewlery and a lot of smiles to make this a memorable moment for everyone.

Doriana has been vising lonely elderly for many years, offering them friendship and the support they need so much. This friendship and long-lasting devotion convinced Doriana that she wanted to share this personal moment with them as well. And this is how the “Something old, something new” saying came true for her too, and how four grannies became the unexpected bridesmaids at the wedding of their dear volunteer.
