Stevie is a blind cat I adopted four years ago from a local animal shelter in Cork, Ireland. She’s a natural explorer and loves to accompany me on hiking trails in the beautiful Irish countryside and the surrounding mountains. When we go hiking together, my adorable cat usually prefers to explore all by herself and follows my sounds. She also walks alongside me on a leash or balances on my shoulders with ease!
Life has been pretty busy lately – I’ve recently become a father of two, and my fiancee and I are also saving up to buy our first house. But our family pet continues to be a very important part of my life as she’s always been – we’re best friends!
Currently, we’re planning a big hike in March 2016 where we’ll tackle Ireland’s highest mountain Carrauntoohil to raise money for animal welfare in Ireland. This cute cat has always been an inspiration for me and continues to be with her courage, tenacity, and her great love of life!

Since she’s blind, Stevie navigates with a combination of her senses
Her sense of smell is extremely sharp
She keeps low to the ground so her whiskers can detect her immediate surroundings
She uses her paws to judge distances to make sure she doesn’t fall off ledges

What a beautiful cat and owner. This is one of my all time favorite stories on Bored Panda. God bless both of you and I hope Stevie raises lots of money for the animals in Ireland! God willing Stevie will have a long and loving life with her loving owner!

Stevie is almost the exact same colouring and markings as my cat Rosie. Twins a world apart.
