This European goldfinch taking a bird bath in his master’s hands is an unusual display of trust. Not only is taming a bird difficult, but researchers are still uncertain as to why birds take baths. Recent studies suggest it has something to do with feather maintenance, and that baths can make them less clumsy in flight. (h/t: twentytwowords)

It must have taken him a lotttt of effort, love and care to build this level of trust... cute but also great....
Great work.. it must have taken him a lot of effort, love and care on his part to establish this level of trust... its immensely cute but incredibly great work done...
Aww that is a very cute bird, I reckon the most bird wants to use the bird bath to clean their feathers to make it more flesher for them.
that is one of the most lovely things I have ever seen, what trust that little bird has and bravo to the guys hands !!xx
Growing up, we had canaries we had bred who loved to do this. We had to be careful when they were out of their cages not to do the dishes and expose them to soap and hot water. After a while, my mother found a small dish to use (called the "bird dish" of course). They sure loved it!
So some c**t fills up his hands with water and thinks this is a story worth sharing?
Why is this bird a captive in the first place? Sorry, it's behaviour that it would display in the wild - which is where it should be, not trapped in a cage!
Did you see it in a cage? I saw it Flying around him. Besides, Finches are house birds in the states, at least some breeds of them are.

cute...but wasted a lot of water on that bath....I think providing him with a little pool container or bathtub bowl would be better....
