It’s finally time for us to bring out some exciting news. We are Gijs & Annebeth from The Netherlands and after more than a year of preparations. We will trade in our cozy home for our trusty bicycles and take off on our lifelong dream. In the spring of 2018, together with our two dogs Huub & Liska, we will start our several year-long bicycle expedition around the world. For us an amazing adventure through many continents and cultures.

Our expedition will start in The Netherlands, after which we will continue our way through Europe and after we planned to cycle across the Pan-American.

CYCLING WITH A MISSION

Besides cycling 35000 kilometers around the world, we wanted to make our expedition meaningful. That is why we started Green Travel Guru, with the idea to create more awareness about the impact of traveling on the environment and to help other travelers to make their journey more responsible. Our blog is in constant development and with our bicycle expedition, we hope to increase the reach of our message.

CHARITY

The most important part of the expedition is our Clean water Fundraising. With this fund, we will raise money for people who don’t have access to clean and safe drinking water. Clean and safe drinking water is the first requirement for survival in every situation. The raised money will be used for the production and shipment of water filters. Our partner for this project is a non-profit organization called Ibota, which produces the filters in cooperation with social projects for underprivileged people.
