Hello, my name is Charlie, and I'm fat. I developed type 2 diabetes in my thirties due to my poor health and eating habits. I wanted to talk openly about my struggles, and since laughter is the best medicine, I started a semi-autobiographical webcomic titled Big Fat Charlie.
Working on this comic has been therapeutic and has helped me cope with my struggles. I've been contacted by more than one person who's said that they find my comic entirely relatable. Thank you for reading. Please enjoy.

I have lost 275 lb and so it used to be that I would go to the doctor the doctor talked to me about my test results in my weight and blah blah blah now I go to the doctor and they're like do not lose anymore weight it's quite the fat shaming is really real as is skinny shaming I never thought that I would experience both in the space of a year and a half
The other one that's worse than "all lives matter" is "blue lives matter." Black lives matter is not a f*cking invitation to silence and oppress people by twisting their words, and it's not that hard to say or understand. The people who say "all/blue lives matter" are racist, either by deliberately trying to undermine the message of Black lives matter, or by ignoring the fact racism is still a problem.
Some people are just too ignorant of everything going on against black people, so they try to say that "all lives matter" because they feel that saying "black lives matter" is racist against white people. I used to side with the all lives matter movement just simply because I wasn't aware of all of the racism that does happen. By saying 'oh, you're just racist', it stops anyone who's too ignorant to want to know why people say they're racist, and they keep saying what they're saying.
Load More Replies...saying black lives matters sound like nothing but black lives matter
Amen to that. I'm beginning to learn a lot about my white privilege...I'm late coming to it, but I'm trying.
You are a GOOD person. Anyone who mistreats you ought to have all of their official/important documents and certificates typed up in COMIC SANS.
What's so bad about comic sans? I think the font looks good, and it's easier for dyslexic people to read.
Load More Replies...black live do not matter to other black people ..just look at chicago..they just don`t care until it is a cop and then lookout here come the protests/riots
BLM doesn't care about the black communities they destroyed, the black businesses they burnt down and the black murders they committed or any of the chaos they are causing. They have caused more deaths during their riots than the ones they are protesting about.
Citation please. Since your "facts" are bogus, let me link you to a peer-reviewed, research study conducted by three respected universities, concluding that Black men in the U.S. have a 1 in 1,000 chance of being killed by the police. www.prisonpolicy.org/scans/police_mort_open.pdf
Load More Replies...The US Invasion of Iraq was called 'Operation Iraqi Freedom'. You agree that the people of Iraq should be free right? So why can't you just say you agree with Operation Iraqi Freedom! You now have to go around saying 'I agree with Operation Iraqi Freedom!'
'I'm Pro Life. As opposed to the other point of view: Pro Death!' I really did hear a conservative person make that statement. See, I could take the logic of this claim and apply it to the 'Pro Life' movement: Everyone is in favor of 'life', of existence right? So why can't you just say that you agree w/ groups that are Pro Life and called things like ''California Right To Life'? Or are you against the right of people to live, to exist, in California?!! - Obviously we know that Pro Life and Right to Life groups are saying a lot more than that they merely favor existence. They're also clearly saying very controversial things, e.g. 'No abortions, even for pregnancy from rape.' BLM, at least some facets of it, is a movement saying things like 'Abolish Police'. Well we don't all agree w/ that one and it's hardly obvious and unassailable as an idea, it's actually an extreme and radical idea. Some BLMers think violence is now justified for their cause, which is also extremely questionable.
Abolishing police isn't extreme or radical. We're the only nation on Earth that has police do all that we ask them to do. Why do police handle mental health emergencies? Wouldn't that be better left to social workers? Wouldn't it make more sense to fund social workers and "abolish" that task from police responsibilities? This will gradually lead to a smaller police force - which is good. No one is advocating for complete abolishment without a plan in place to address community needs.
Load More Replies...Dawn, when someone says "Save the Rainforest," they're not saying "F**k all other types of forests." They're calling attention to the rainforest because it's endangered. In the U.S., Black lives are in danger. Black men have a 1 in 1,000 risk of dying from a police officer - a risk 2.5 times higher than for a white man. (The risk for you, if you're a white woman, is 1 in 30,000.) You just sound really, really ignorant crying for attention when your risk is 1/30,000 and a Black man's risk is 1/1,000. I know it's shocking, but you're in very little danger, so this moment isn't about you.

I made an account to upvote your comics. I really love your work and it makes me smile every day :)
I made an account that I’ll probably never use again just to upvote your amazing stuff! Btw I didn’t know before that you also illustrated a children’s book! That’s so pure 💕
#7 hits so hard. The first time I ever felt old was when I walked into Best Buy at the ripe ol' age of 26 to see Nevermind on the Classic Rock end cap. I asked a worker about it, and his response was "Where else would it be?"
I was hanging out with my mom one time, and she asked my Google home to play "mom music" to see what would come up. It played music from when I was in high school. I was horrified to realize my generation is fully in the parenting time of our lives and my mom was horrified at my comment that she was looking for "grandma music"

I'm sorry but I don't find ignoring diabetes funny. It's a very serious disease & if ignored 90% of those people will go blind. Then there are the multitude that will die from heart disease, complications of lower limb amputation surgeries or complete organ shutdown while in a diabetic coma. You making light of it is right up there with people who won't wear masks in public, it's just completely irresponsible & not funny at all to me. So feel free to downvote this or call me a snowflake or whatever, I don't care but I have seen first hand what this disease will do. My mother has Type II diabetes & is insulin dependent. I have had to drive her to dr appts while she was getting her glaucoma under control. I have cared for her after her triple bypass surgery, I am constantly at her to check her feet for any numbness. She is on 12 different medications due to the actual diabetes & other medical issues she wouldn't have if she wasn't diabetic. Would you like to make a funny comic about that? Or how she worries every goddamned night that she will fall into a coma & never wake up? Hilarious, isn't it? Or how 2 medications she needs to take to survive have a combined side effect of Alzheimer's-like symptoms & she feels like she is going insane some days & I constantly have to calm her down? That's so funny, isn't it?! It would be fine if you were trying to make light of what it takes to control diabetes while you have it under control. But you don't & ignoring it shouldn't be made into a joke.
102 to 116 are duplicates. While they are good there is no need to pad this post, ok!!!
I'm sorry it was an accident T_T
