Hello, my name is Charlie, and I'm fat. I developed type 2 diabetes in my thirties due to my poor health and eating habits. I wanted to talk openly about my struggles, and since laughter is the best medicine, I started a semi-autobiographical webcomic titled Big Fat Charlie.
Working on this comic has been therapeutic and has helped me cope with my struggles. I've been contacted by more than one person who's said that they find my comic entirely relatable. Thank you for reading. Please enjoy.

I have lost 275 lb and so it used to be that I would go to the doctor the doctor talked to me about my test results in my weight and blah blah blah now I go to the doctor and they're like do not lose anymore weight it's quite the fat shaming is really real as is skinny shaming I never thought that I would experience both in the space of a year and a half
Peanut butter and bread and butter pickle sandwiches.

I made an account to upvote your comics. I really love your work and it makes me smile every day :)
I made an account that I’ll probably never use again just to upvote your amazing stuff! Btw I didn’t know before that you also illustrated a children’s book! That’s so pure 💕
#7 hits so hard. The first time I ever felt old was when I walked into Best Buy at the ripe ol' age of 26 to see Nevermind on the Classic Rock end cap. I asked a worker about it, and his response was "Where else would it be?"
I was hanging out with my mom one time, and she asked my Google home to play "mom music" to see what would come up. It played music from when I was in high school. I was horrified to realize my generation is fully in the parenting time of our lives and my mom was horrified at my comment that she was looking for "grandma music"

Hahaha, I really enjoyed those comics!! Finally some really funny and well drawn stuff, and not the usual "I've anxiety and my uterus is talking mean to me" relatable comic we are shown everyday on BP.
I absolutely loved these! I love the sassy cat. You should make more comics! Thank you!!!

Pretty good stuff, hello a few too many doubles. I'd also personally prefer it if the pants were more obviously pants because a whole lot of the time it looks like he isn't wearing any pants.
Thank you Geoffrey and apologies for doubles I am new to posting on BP so I guess I need more practice also tight pants are very fashionable these days

I'm sorry but I don't find ignoring diabetes funny. It's a very serious disease & if ignored 90% of those people will go blind. Then there are the multitude that will die from heart disease, complications of lower limb amputation surgeries or complete organ shutdown while in a diabetic coma. You making light of it is right up there with people who won't wear masks in public, it's just completely irresponsible & not funny at all to me. So feel free to downvote this or call me a snowflake or whatever, I don't care but I have seen first hand what this disease will do. My mother has Type II diabetes & is insulin dependent. I have had to drive her to dr appts while she was getting her glaucoma under control. I have cared for her after her triple bypass surgery, I am constantly at her to check her feet for any numbness. She is on 12 different medications due to the actual diabetes & other medical issues she wouldn't have if she wasn't diabetic. Would you like to make a funny comic about that? Or how she worries every goddamned night that she will fall into a coma & never wake up? Hilarious, isn't it? Or how 2 medications she needs to take to survive have a combined side effect of Alzheimer's-like symptoms & she feels like she is going insane some days & I constantly have to calm her down? That's so funny, isn't it?! It would be fine if you were trying to make light of what it takes to control diabetes while you have it under control. But you don't & ignoring it shouldn't be made into a joke.

I'm sorry it was an accident T_T
