When the spookiest night of the year is dawning upon you, there’s always this feeling that every cool costume has been done before. Coming up with some seriously mad idea is never easy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t rock an original look.
Just take a look at the ingenious people who nailed Halloween like it was a walk in the park in the list below. The magic formula (probably) doesn’t exist, but thinking outside the box, picking up fun cultural references everyone can relate to, and getting your thread and needle working may do the job.

This Halloween was very different from the previous ones. It turns out, this year, more Americans bought costumes for their pets and transformed them into hot dogs, superheroes, cats, pumpkins, and bumblebees. This new trend can be attributed to pandemic-induced social distancing that took traditional Halloween activities like parties, dinners, and trick-or-treating off the menu.
"This is fine" meme has turned out to be one of the most popular Halloween costumes this year, winning hearts on social media without a competition. It’s because the "this is fine" dog seen drinking coffee in a house engulfed in flames managed to perfectly capture the essence of how we all feel about this year so far.
Happy Halloween?

Bored Panda reached out to Lydia Garcia, a visual artist from Austin, Texas who also pulled off “the costume of our times,” “this is fine” meme, for Halloween. Lydia said that she, her other half named Trevor, and their new corgi they got during lockdown were trying to stay positive amid these challenging times.
“We tried to find laughter out of all the insanity and we thought this meme encompassed our feelings with every piece of bad news we've seen this year.”
Lydia added that his year, she missed out on seeing friends and family and the neighborhood in costume, and “that was a bummer.” On the other hand, the couple still “could still enjoy the spooky movie nights and Schitt's Creek costumes everyone killed it on.”

I was going to do the moss wig, I’d make the heart with some green flowers. I even grabbed some green body makeup to make it really come to life. My goal was to make it happen on a budget, so I spent months hunting down all the pieces we’d need to pull it off. Here’s one of my inspo pictures above. I was excited because Emilia was so excited.

The beginning premise of the John Wick series is that his wife has died, leaving him with a puppy, who is later killed when his house is broken into.
Load More Replies...Just be like John Wick- give them the mute treatment and "off" them later...
....and then you'd probably be reported to the cops

Is it only America that uses Hallowe'en for general fancy dress? In the UK, people wear costumes related to horror, death and spookiness only.
Yeah, feels like it weakens the whole Halloween vibe. Spooky is good! I prefer it more traditional rather than costumes that could be worn for any fancy dress party.
Load More Replies...Why are there so many people at gatherings, at parties, and in large crowds during a pandemic?!?! And the lack of masks is what's truly terrifying about these!
Some costumes don't look like costumes if it's just different style of clothing you usually wear and your hair a bit different. Some of these " costumes" seem just like non dressed up people to me. Part of the fun of dressing up is being unrecognisable imo. In the South part of the Netherlands we celebrate Carnaval 46 days before Easter, and then it's 3 days of craziness. Look up " Carnaval Maastricht" (yes, CarnAval)
My great niece combined her wedding on Halloween with a costume party this year and it was a lot of fun. I went as Robin Hood with brown tights and vest, a green shirt, and brown boots. I made a hat with green felt, attached a feather, and already had a fake mustache and goatee type beard. I bought a cheap child's bow and arrow set, cut the rubber tips off the arrows, and made my own arrow tips, with a word on each of 4 things I'd like to rid the world of, fear, ignorance, greed, and hate. The set came with a sheath and plastic knife and I made a quiver for the arrows from brown felt. Some people thought I was Peter Pan but since I like both characters, I didn't mind.
I’m feeling we’re not playing love games with Old Greg here, both costumes down the bottom? The kid’s extra adorable!
