Firefighter Shares A Tribute To His Dog That Passed Away And Every Pet Owner Can Relate
American author and columnist W Bruce Cameron once said: “When you adopt a dog, you have a lot of very good days and one very bad day.” He is, of course, referring to the inevitable day that every dog owner dreads.
Like all pets, dogs become family starting day one. Their contagious optimism and unfathomable loyalty are what gave them their well-known title of “man’s best friend”. So, when it comes time to say good-bye, it hurts like no other.
Gregg Favre posted a heart-wrenching tweet about the loss of his beloved rescue pup Bella. The tear-jerking tribute includes some of the best moments together, including a poem that he wrote for Bella and recited every walk they took for the last 4 months of their life together.
Bored Panda invites you to take part in and to experience Favre’s tribute to the amazing Bella.

Favre has an unbelievably strong connection with Bella. In his tweets, he explains that she was like no other dog he ever had—they bonded so much that a glance or a nod was enough to understand each other.

It is estimated that around 6 million dogs will be diagnosed with cancer this year. These include skin, breast, head and neck, testicle, bone cancers, as well as lymphoma and abdominal tumors.
Finally, if youve come this far in this thread, please watch this short clip.
Since her diagnosis 4 months ago, I’ve said this poem to Bella on every walk we’ve taken.
As I held her last night, before she slipped away, I told her once more, “heart to chest.”

Of all the things we did together, going on walks were her favorite.
Even when I wasn’t in the room when the idea was proposed, she’d run to fine me, making sure I had an invite.
I miss my friend every day.
I’m thankful for these memories. pic.twitter.com/fuxq9JVuoV

Favre got the initial cancer medication from Stray Rescue of St. Louis, an organization that rescues and shelters animals as well as provides other kinds of support for people to foster responsible pet guardianship.

This pulled at my heart strings more than you know. Your sweet gal resembles my Zoe who is still with me but I dread the day she 'goes home'. I know I'll be a wreck. . You gave her beautiful years and let's hope they are waiting for us once our time comes to go home. Zoe-1-5de9...375266.jpg
I'm now mourning your loss of Bella. This definitely didn't make me ugly cry.
