From weirder-than-weird facial hair trends to turning into a whole other person after shaving, people on the internet truly seem to appreciate some delightful beard content. Luckily, there's plenty of men who believe it’s a great time to ditch the razor and let their stubble grow.
You would be surprised how some hair on the lower cheeks and chin can change someone beyond recognition. Today, this post will be all about before and after pictures of men who decided to let their beards roam free. And even though some of them probably found a completely different person in the mirror, it seems to be just what they needed.
Thousands of men shared their incredible transformations with everyone online, and we selected some of the best ones to wrap them up in a list for you to enjoy. Transformation
Another year has passed since the “before and after” circus and I realised the photos being shared is not really a true reflection any more seeing after “after” photo is coming up to being 5 years old. Time bloody flies ey!
So here’s a revamp. Not far off 15 years time difference between the two shots. Age 21 - 35! Mental.
Bit of reflection in the before photo I thought I knew everything. In the after, I realise I know nothing. Something to think about on a Wednesday night.
Beardless And Beard Challenge
Went Through Chemo, Decided To Beat Cancer And Try To Grow A Beard For The First Time. Never Looked Back
To learn more about recent beard trends, hair growing tips, and what areas people usually overlook, we reached out to Tiffany Carnevale-Russo, salon manager at Jaxson Maximus in Miami. She told Bored Panda that right now they see plenty of gentlemen who decided to grow out their beards and hair during quarantine.
Well, no wonder why — it was the perfect time for men worldwide to put down their razors and try something they never tried before. After all, if you were slightly out of luck and didn't manage to fully rock the look, you could just easily laugh it off since not that many people would witness your little mishap.
However, it seems that many were able to pull it off. Just take a walk around the city and you’ll be greeted by all shapes and sizes of groomed (and sometimes completely wild!) facial hair, whether it’s slick mustaches, full-on beards, or at least some designer stubbles. "Beard care has become a focus with our clients," Tiffany added.

If you were inspired by the number of men strolling down the street with their gorgeous new look, there are a few things to consider. "Make sure the hair grows in an even pattern," Tiffany advised. "Some men get bald patches throughout their beards. If this is the case, we recommend a goatee or not having facial hair at all."
"Sometimes, your beard can blend some areas to match so that the balding isn't visible. It entirely depends on the person and their hair growth pattern," she said and added that it's best to consult with your barber to see what would be best for you.
When asked whether there are any new trends on the radar, Jaxson Maximus’ manager explained that more men opt for a full beard rather than sharp lines and corners. Thankfully, it seems that the world is finally ditching the double mustache and the monkey tail beard looks. "More natural-looking is definitely more popular."

Once you’ve patiently waited through all of the stages of beard growth, you’ll find that sometimes it can be quite hard to manage. Tiffany told Bored Panda that "professional grooming products are key, so make sure to invest in proper skincare products. Best to consult with your barber or stylist to see what they recommend."

I really want to know what went on between the before and the after.

In the meantime, it’s necessary to use a cleanser to wash your face. "Removing everyday dirt and debris will help the beard have a healthy environment to grow, just like the hair on your head," she explained.
"Adding in an exfoliant once or twice a week will help open the pores, especially when shaving. It allows the razor to move over the face easily and prevents irritation," she continued. "Hydrating the beard is also very important. A good quality beard oil will help soften the beard hair; this helps the hair not become very wiry and more manageable."

Kinda Crazy The Difference A Couple Months Can Make
Let’s not forget the areas that sometimes get seriously neglected, like shaving the neck. "Make sure you explain to the barber that you are looking to maintain your beard look until your next appointment. Unless you are going in once a week, you will want an at-home regime. Ask him or her to walk you through how to properly shave your neck, and what products are best to use," she suggested.

Lastly, Tiffany would like to advise you to create a lasting relationship with your barber or stylist. "Make sure you feel comfortable with them, and you’re confident they are delivering the best experience possible. Also, invest in proper products recommended by your hair care professional to maintain any look you have at home, in between appointments," she concluded.

Wow, I never realised how such small changes in hairstyles and beard can make some guys look completely different! I wish someone could tell me what to do to make myself look better, but as a female with long straight hair, growing a beard is out of the question!
Try a crewcut. Many women look cool with super short hair.
Load More Replies...Fact: 90% of men looks better with a (groomed, not too long) beard rather than being shaven. Why? First: a beard hides "imperfections" (acne scars, blemish, double chin, a weak chin/jaw). Second: it adds volume in the right places (jaws and chin) creating a more "manly" appearance. Third: it adds "matureness" on a baby face. Same concept but the opposite for mustaches: 90% of men looks worse with moustaches. Sources: my personal opinion 😉
So much of the difference between the before and after is in the expressions. The men are much more fierce and unsmiling. They are also giving the cocked eyebrow that gives a rakish look. It's really how they feel about themselves rather that what others think.
They can't copy the beard and hairstyle if they don't copy the facial expression and style of dress.
Load More Replies...I really, really do not like big bushy massive beards. They creep me out. I don't know why. They just do. Most of these guys look just fine either way in my opinion, but I actually get the shudders just thinking about all that beard.
Same. I like a little stubble, but massive beards are just not for me. Maybe I constantly have the image of bits of food getting stuck in there. Whatever the cause, I’m clearly in the wrong post when it’s celebrating beards and I don’t even like them - a real testament to how desperate I am for ever new content. 😅
Load More Replies...I was going to get rid of mine now I have changed my mind. It really does suit these guys.
A lot of guys (if not all) look great both with and without beards. The only thing I find with beards is that they tend to obscure the mouth and I am a big fan of seeing mouths/lips! I notice when my partner shaves off his beard (once a year) his expressions are *so* much clearer/stronger and I can see his beautiful smile properly!
I'm personally a massive fan of facial hair or beards. It can give a really good face shape and is a good way to hide flaws ( nothing wrong with flaws I'm just saying) and also gives an individual a distinctive look instead of blending into a crowd . It has to be maintained though
Makes you wonder what a bearded guy looks like WITHOUT the hairy face. Sometimes they have a beard for a reason, and that reason can be scary! And just because you CAN grow a beard, does not mean you SHOULD!
Grew my first beard at 14 heading into high school. Had to keep it shaved during the school year... Graduated in '85 and have had a beard since... never looked back. I look better with a beard than without.
My hubs looks like his mom when he shaves his beard off to start a-new. It’s sooo not a good look and I absolutely hate it when he does. And yes, he is very well aware of this. I really don’t need a thinned out version of my evil and deceased mil, glaring ominously at me. The nightmares! Oh, the nightmares 🥺
It's just hair and has no more real significance than that. In many cases guys are clearly compensating: no hair, double chin, no chin. Friend of mine has a beard (that he shaves off once a year to "air out his face") and has always said he has one because he looks like Andy Gump without it. Having seen him shaved, I admit he does. He looks very distinguished and keeps his beard well trimmed... unlike the lumberjack/mountain man look so prevalent these days. Then there's the even sillier Prussian/pre-Nazi Germany, full beard with close cropped hair look. Not a look I'd want to be associated with.
These beards got popular about 4 years after I settled into my current relationship! I remember going to a bar and there were 3 or 4 bartenders all with killer beards! I was like “ where were these beards when I was dating?” And one of them asked me “ does that mean you like them? “ it was cute ! Then I ordered a chicken salad and found a wadded up piece of paper towel in it :/ good times :)
Who the hell downvoted you? Anyway, these guys are pretty damn hot.
