Looking for a new house is not the only reason for browsing real estate listings. Sometimes it’s a great place to find home improvement ideas or vice versa—examples of things you would never do to your beloved nest.
The creator of Nightmare on Zillow Street shared with Bored Panda why they chose to post the latter type of designs on their Instagram account: “It seems to me that people are mostly interested in really bad decor choices more than the actual design of the home. It's all about the shock value! It's fun to laugh. That's what people need more of in their lives!”
Hmmm cozy, amazing nature veiw, creaky door... a bit expensive but ill take it 😁
The creative mind behind the account admitted to being addicted to Zillow and looking at homes. “Sometimes I see things that I just HAVE to share with the world. Things so bad or shocking that I can't keep it to myself.”
“It always boggles my mind that sellers don't understand the importance of putting together a place that elicits a warm, cozy atmosphere that buyers would want to invest in. And hopefully pay top dollar!” they said.
I mean at least you will be blinded before they murder you
Load More Replies...3 seconds of licking the basement carpet will give you at least 2 STDs and a psychedelic trip
But why would you lick the carpet in the first place 😁
Load More Replies...I'm honestly impressed with how well that wallpaper's dye has held up, though.
Unsurprising since it’s clearly been flooded.
Load More Replies...I like the idea of this wallpaper as a feature to add something to a room, but maybe not on every wall...
Where the murder clowns strip club was previously located, ladies, gentlemen and everything in between.
For when you want to hire a stripper for your kid's birthday party
Whoever buys this house can turn the basement into a Hooker lounge. You have the hooker poll in the middle of the room, and then you can order drinks at the window counter that is behind the poll. 🤠👍
We bought a house and wondered why the basement walls were painted black. Turns out it wasn't paint.
why does this look like a creepy clown will live here (but NOT PENNYWISE)
Sadly, not everyone has an eye for detail and impeccable taste in home design. Moreover, not everyone’s ideas make as much sense in real life as they might in their heads. And these pictures are great proof of that.
That is why it might be a good idea to turn to professionals for help. Thankfully, there are nearly 44 thousand of them in the US alone, which provides hope for people willing to invest in the design of their home.
Isn't there an episode of the D**k Van Dyke show where they buy a house with a rock like this in the basement???
Creating a cozy atmosphere is important not only for the sellers trying to allure a potential buyer. People building their home from the ground up usually also want to make it a comfortable place for them to stay. Especially considering that they spend more than half of their time awake at home.
Nowadays it is easier for people to make decisions about certain design choices. The abundance of different tools, apps, and software allows them to see what their home might look like without having to wait for the actual paint to dry. (Using an app for some of the design features on this list before making them happen would definitely have come in handy.)
Bunker, i like it, and want it ( no Im not a zombie Apocalypse believer, i like them because they are incredibly silent and no One annoys you )
Some of these are simple paint & wallpaper -jobs. Some are... something else entirely.
I was going to say the same - so a lot need to be updated and... ?
Load More Replies...So honestly I'd rather tackle repainting a few of these than looking at another white and gray house with barn doors hung everywhere...
As an Interior Designer, these photos cause physical pain to my nervous system!
I'll take one of these over the boring modular housing you see everywhere nowadays.
If they changed out the paint colors, wallpaper, and/or carpeting on some of these, then I'd buy them.
A lot of the issues with these are the choices of furniture and decorations instead of architecture problems.
