This is why online groups like Awful Everything exist. The page bio states that it “views all things that are just genuinely awful,” and you will see it as you scroll through. It features unfortunate events and shames people who commit despicable acts.
We’ve picked out some images that stood out. Just a heads up, this list may make you shake your head in disbelief and disappointment.

Ok That Broke My Heart
I remember that. She eventually accepted him with the help of some older females. She was just a kid herself and they assumed it was because she'd never seen a baby before, and didn't know what to do.
I hope that's true, cause it makes me feel a lot better

All animals have feelings, and social animals living in groups have very defined ones. If they grow up in their family group, they learn social behaviour and how to treat babys. If they live in captivity, without the chance to experience various situations from close by, they don't know what to do. And postpartum depression does happen to animal mothers, too.
tori says the mother was young and inexperienced, and accepted him with help from older moms. Made me wonder, do elephants ever adopt orphans? It seems lone babies always go to sanctuaries when they are discovered & need care.
Yes, they do, even in the wild and of their own volition/ initiation. But I saw a doco one time where an older female was brought in intentionally by humans when a gang of teen boy orphaned elephants had been running amok and creating havoc near a town. The female decided to stick around and be an adult force/ presence for the teens, and after a while, the young ones started behaving and getting back on track with their psychological development that had been delayed.
Load More Replies...Even the best zoos are terrible environments for elephants. In the wild, the mother would have see other babies being born, and had the opportunity to be a "nanny" or "auntie" to the babies (they're a very matriarchal society). Probably one of the best groups on the planet today dealing with elephants is Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. They rescue orphan elephant babies (and several other animals, including a rhino), raise them, and teach them about how to live in the wild so they can return to their natural lives. Astoundingly, the bonds they form with their humans are so close that they often return from the wild to have their wild-born babies in the safety and presence of the people who raised them. I donate to them regularly. The stories are amazing, from heartbreak to triumph. They also actively work to find and prosecute poachers, educate locals on avoiding human/elephant conflicts, and so much more. https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/
Strange that wild animals do sometimes reject their young. At least this poor baby had some wonderfully kind humans to console him. I hope he's doing well. I love elephants.
Oh wow. I feel heartbroken. Please hope he was 'adopted ' by another female
We're animals and we have feelings so the stupider reasoning is that other animals don't, I find people who pretend they don't to be completely mental.
Animals are sentient beings. We must advocate for and pass laws acknowledging this fact. Some countries have, many more must do the same.
Those are emojis but you can't always see them as such (I'm on the app and for me they also show up as question marks)
Load More Replies...She accepted him in the end, she was just really young and had literally never seen a baby before so had no idea what to do with it.
Load More Replies...The mother had feelings. They simply aren't what you want them to be.

The System Is Broken
Shades of Walter White being forced to do manual labour at the carwash to compensate for his miserable teacher's salary. You can kinda see why he ended up turning evil.
We often see messages encouraging happiness and positivity while blocking out negative things. According to life and careers coach Helen Dillon, this mindset isn’t beneficial. As she tells Healthline, it hinders us from critically analyzing our current situation.
“Positivity is a good mindset to have, but embracing the negative moments in our lives is what keeps us real,” she said.
Healthcare System
There are no words to describe how much I hate the insurance industry. And I live in a country with universal healthcare, so l'm not directly affected, but they're predatory soulless c***s who feast on people's tragedies. It's currently happening in Valencia. Insurance companies won't pay based on a clause of "extraordinary weather phenomenon"

You Don’t Mess With People’s Food. Period
As psychotherapist Gillian Fagan points out, negativity is also innate in humans. It is called a negativity bias, where we naturally expect the worst to come.
Fagan states that catastrophizing is rooted in our instinct for survival, and focusing too much on the positive may magnify feelings of failure when things don’t go our way.

What Do You Think? Do You Agree?
Even if I wasn't poor I would buy most of my clothes from the op shop (thrift store). It is pretty common where I live (except maybe in certain suburbs) for people (mostly women) to brag about the deals they have gotten from the op shop. I have a handbag shaped like a book that has gotten a lot of compliments and at least twice it has led to me chatting about deals from op shops with random women at the bar.
Some People Are Messed Up
Unpleasantries are a part of life, and it’s all about embracing their presence. Motivation Science Professor Dr. Bobby Hoffman notes that people who are more inclined to accept the negativity around them have better mental health. It all comes down to emotional regulation.
In an article for Psychology Today, Dr. Hoffman defines this as the conscious alteration of the appraisal and assessment of the emotion, which, in effect, neutralizes the negative consequences.

That's A Horrible Way To Go
So, what is the shortest path to emotional regulation? Dr. Hoffman suggests restructuring our feelings and responses via simple acts of positive self-talk. It’s also about accepting that bad things happen to everyone, regardless of their personality and the existence of bad karma.
“Repeatedly accepting one's negative thoughts and emotions, rather than judging them, may allow individuals to repeatedly experience less negative emotion,” he wrote.

The same would probably happen in Britain.

Ok, so that is slightly less than 2 gallons per hour per passenger, or approximately the same fuel consumption as an average car with a single occupant travelling at 70 mph. That's why modern cruise liners and cargo vessels are so big and carry so many passengers and so much cargo, it all about economy of scale. It may seem counter-intuitive but very large cruise and cargo ships are more efficient on a cargo-ton per mile or passenger number per mile basis than almost any other form of transport.

What happened to Bored Panda's formerly light-hearted, optimistic world-view? Does the world need more tabloid dirt? The mutation is complete.
The world is already depressing enough, so why is stuff like this being posted here? Do you want us to lose hope completely?
