‘Awful Everything’ Online Community Shames World’s Worst People And Here’s 50 Of Their Most Hated Ones
When you’re scrolling through social media or reading the news, it can start to feel like there’s no good left on this planet. Hearing about terrible and devastating events can sometimes become a little overwhelming. But instead of keeping these feelings to ourselves, we can start a conversation online.
Awful Everything is a subreddit where more than 1.4M members share pictures about the worst of the worst. From stories about the healthcare system and financial troubles to abusive police officers, this community is shining a light on the struggles people face every day.
Bored Panda has collected some of the top-voted images from this online group, so continue scrolling. And if you’re feeling up to it, share your own experiences and thoughts in the comment section below.

I Wish ...humanity Changes
Aaron Tucker
Since 2014, the subreddit has been steadily growing and bringing our attention to the devastating things happening around us. From gruesome crimes to minor injustices, the community is dedicated to showing how bad our world can get. As the moderators say, “Lament with us as we view all things that are just genuinely awful.”
Sadly, we have a tendency to dwell on the things that go wrong and use stronger words to describe them. When it comes to the positive or neutral incidents, they seem to be not as important. Just think about negative stereotypes—humans are quick to form bad impressions and often have a hard time changing their views.
Poor Guy :(
These stories break my heart, they really do. So many people, SO MANY, are just one illness away from this happening to them. Our government has utterly failed us.
The Fact That This Is So Common Is Heartbreaking
Even if some of us have a rather optimistic view of life, people still remember more details about their unpleasant experiences. “The brain handles positive and negative information in different hemispheres,” Clifford Nass, a professor of communication at Stanford University, told The New York Times.
He said that negative emotions generally involve more thinking, and the information is processed more thoroughly than positive ones.
Psychologists refer to this as the negativity bias. Picture it: you’re having a pleasant day at work until your coworker throws you an inconsiderate comment. When you come back home, what will you remember more—the overall good day or the remark?
We Are All Spolied
Richest Country
Roy Baumeister, a social psychologist and co-author of The Power of Bad: How the Negativity Effect Rules Us and How We Can Rule It, said that it’s one of the most basic psychological principles that seems to be true everywhere.
“A mind is prone to overreact to negative things relative to positive things; so people can use this to manipulate us, or we can use this to manipulate other people,” he explained. “If we understand this, we can prevent some of the negative effects and improve the quality of our social life.”

I just don't understand how it is considered justified if he was shot in the back! How can someone be a threat with their back towards you? I really hope this case is properly handled and the officers are not only terminated from their jobs but also sent to prison/death row! May Darrien rest in peace.
The Power Of Hate
There are so many great folks left out of history. Leprosy used to be a disease that would kill or maim so many people through history until a 23-year old black chemist named Alice Ball came up with a cure in 1915. Unfortunately she died the next year due to an accident. Who knows what she could have accomplished? https://scientificwomen.net/women/ball-alice-121
John Tierney, a journalist and the other co-author of this book, mentioned that the reason why we focus more on bad news is probably that it is aimed at the general public. “And the things that affect everyone tend to be negative—we’re all afraid of dying; we’re all afraid of being hurt. Focusing on those shared concerns is the easiest way to reach a mass audience.”
However, people on social media tend to share stories that are more pleasant. “That’s because the positive things we’re interested in—our hobbies, our cultural interests, the books we read—are more idiosyncratic,” he added. “Curating your news feed so that you’re not seeing so many negative stories can be good.”
Everything About This
A Running Top
Understanding and noticing our tendency to dwell on the negativities in life should help us to recognize that things are usually not as bad as we think. While it is important to share and discuss the problems we face in today’s world, it’s also vital to balance it out with the good stuff. So if you’re feeling a bit down, we’ve got you covered. Just take a look at some of our most recent wholesome posts here and right here.

It almost seems like American cops would rather work with rapist, abusers, murderers, corruption, and brutality in their force. Than becoming those who fight against it. People like in the pictures above should be celebrated and become the norm. But hey.. what do I know.
Just Awful
Sadly female upon male abuse is rarely seen and even worse, rarely stopped because not many believe it happens. I have a friend with lasting brain damage from being abused by his wife and daughter. He ended up having part of his brain removed. It does happen, but not many believe, let alone catch it. Most think the woman is the victim.

Calling Homeless People “Animals”
We had homeless people that would line the doors of the shops at night when the businesses closed. I worked closing at a bakery and would sign out the food that was to be thrown out, but then bag it up and give it to the homeless guys as I walked past them to my car. One time, while heading to my car, a guy tried to mess with me trying to mug me. Those same homeless people ganged up on him and chased him off, then escorted me to my car.
That is a great thing to do. My church used to collect bins of leftovers from a bakery once a week to donate to a community organisation for people who needed it. I think there were different orginisations that collected on the other days of the week. It felt so good to be doing something to help others.
Load More Replies...Your ex-boss is a heartless monster and a psycho. You can be proud of yourself to do the good thing. It's crazy to throw things out and there are people starving to death. Last week I was in the supermarket and I heard the boss telling the staff that they have to throw the banana's and blueberries in the container at the end of the day. Why??????
The reason why is because in the past when it was acceptable to give the homeless and the needy the left overs, stale, day old and almost expired food, the homeless and the needy would get sick or even claim food poisoning and would sue the business(es) that would give them the free food. To stop the lawsuits, businesses stopped giving out free food. The bosses and staff aren't the crazy ones, it's the ones that fraudulently make claims to get money.
Load More Replies...A well dressed businessman in San Francisco walking down the sidewalk chose to kick the crap out of a homeless guy who was sleeping. The suit was filmed doing it. Do you think the police were called? Do you think the suit was cited for abuse? I loathe this aspect of society. Nothing has value anymore. Not your neighbor, not your pet…nothing, they all just get tossed when difficult times hit
A butcher in Canada left out their meat scraps out each night for stray dogs. There is no reason the same cant the same be done in other places?
I think that there are now quite a few places that do that. People used to be worried about lawsuits (in some places) which might have caused them to stop the practice but that has changed. My church used to collect bread from a bakery once a week to distribute at a community centre. My sister also worked at a warehouse that accepted food from supermarkets and separated the spoilt things from the fresh ones to distribute to homeless people.

Load More Replies...When i worked at subway, my boss wrote me up for giving a homeless man overproofed bread that was going to be thrown away anyway. So i started giving him my free 6 inch i got for lunch. Once again, written up. So i told this homeless man to come in for water next time. I'm not ashamed to admit that when he came in, i'd give him a water cup, but during my next break i made him a footlong of his choice and chips AND a juice and left in a box behind the store for him. I obviously did not pay for it 🙊😈 i hope hes ok. And i hope subway goes under.
There is a large supermarket chain here in the UK that was filmed pouring bleach over thrown out food to stop people taking it, ffs, you didn’t want it, that reason his hungry enough to go through bins and you deliberately spoil good food so they can’t eat? F**k you, seriously
My very first job was working at a 711 about a thousand years ago. I worked graveyard and manned the store while my coworker made sandwiches and packaged food all night. I asked a manager a few weeks into my job why we threw out perfectly good food just over a day old (into a locked trash bin), she responded that she didn't want to encourage homeless or people who needed food to hang in the area. Uh. I had news for her, they were doing that all night anyways. The people who gave me a hard time were the ones who paid for things. I only lasted two months before moving for school but I would bag the sandwiches and disguise them next to an actual bag of garbage. While I took out garbage I would drop the sandwiches on the ground where the camera didn't reach. Not a single one ever bothered me. The people just wanted to eat. Plain and simple.
A lot of homeless people have jobs! A lot of rich people inherited money! I would have made a big to-do about this boss and company! But I might have to fear for my life also!
When I moved to Germany I got my first job at Burger King while I went to school to learn German. About two months in my shift manager caught on me placing untouched (still packed food) on the top tray of the trash cart near the door for the homeless in the area to pick up. I got scolded for that and accused of stealing from the company. Mind you, those were products which have already been paid for by customers. I stood my ground and kept doing it as there was no written policy stating we weren't allowed to do that. I allso started to give extras to ambulance workers, police officers, firemen and the poor customers (the regulars). Not like a lot extra but like big fries instead of small and may an extra hamburger. Never got caught on that one though. One day same asshole had qn issue with the orange colour of my seeing eye glasses. He told me in front of a customer I needed to get no coloured ones. I just started laughing my butt off asking if can pay for the type of lenses I need. He dropped it but then two months later same dude saw me cry in a back room a week and a half after my father passed away and told me I need to get over it already! He's dead!! It was unbelievable. Right before quiting the job I had a major argument with this piece of s**t. He was giving me hell for giving someone (obviously a poor person) a glass of tap wate. I literally had to explain to him that we live in a country where refusing to give out tap water when requested is actually illegal. He then argued that the water is toxic, I showed him the soda equipment tapped into the same pippin system, he was pissed and said I have stoled a cup from thr company for which I gave him 20 cents and told him to keep the rest. By then I was on my way to make shift manager and he was pissed. The day they put their offer on the table was the day I quit and told them why, not to mention the pay they were offering was a joke. I had to treat that whole thing as a social experiment but it did take a huge toll on my mental health....
I was homeless for over six years and sometimes bagel dumpsters kept me alive for days. Meanwhile for every courteous me that came by about four of them came buy, tearing apart garbage bags, throwing garbage out of the dumpster, defecating in the dumpster and on the ground, and urinating in any open space left. It took five years for them to make it to every bagel dumpster I knew of, and after that the Dairy Queen management started mixing in used coffee grounds and eggshells into his bagel bags in hopes of driving the dumpster vandals off.

All this stuff about the. price of insulin makes me so mad because the insulin patent from was originally sold for $1 with the understanding that cheap insulin would become available to all. For a long time the price of insulin was reasonable, retailing for $24 a vial in 1996. But due to no price controls the price has skyrocketed in the U.S. in the past couple years, because apparently the thought process is ‘why not gouge sick people?’ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5001219/

Well, I'm more thoroughly depressed now than when I started, so thanks for that.
If it helps you to feel better, in 2021 there have been great medical breakthroughs and treatments to help beat cancers, alzheimers, diabetes. Plus there have been great strides in ocean cleanup recently. It's a hard pill to swallow, but helps to be aware of horrific things in order to stop it. Progression in humanity isn't always beautiful and quite a dirty job.

Stuff like these are the reason why I'll never bring kids into this miserable world!
I have great grandkids. By the time they get to my age, there will no longer be a United States because we will violently implode from the inequality we see here today. Such a shame and so sad for words. There should be no First Amendment rights when you promote a lie. Liars such as Trump should be in jail for slander and libel. And broadcasters, such as Fox News should not be allowed to blatantly lie and should be shut down immediately. And then I woke up
Honestly, you'll be lucky if your kids make it to your age before everything implodes, never mind younger generations.

I had a medication that I needed to function that cost $25 per pill. I was supposed to take 2 pills per day, but I managed okay if I took 4 pills every 3 days. There were a couple of times when we had to decide whether we would pay for my medicine or the mortgage. There was a class action suit, and I got 12% of that money back. Over $8,000. The medicine is modafinil, by the way.
I always lose faith in humanity when I read these because they are so universal. We have many of the same problems and the corruption runs deep within the system. Imagine following all the right steps but still having to pay to get the end product.
I can't keep going. This is a very upsetting article. It doesn't mean you shouldn't keep publishing them, though. I wish you all peace and love. Xxx

I have a story to add: So, we left my abusive father, he was high on drugs all the time, hit me, emotionally and mentally abused my mom and me, lied and endangered my brother and I. Well, once we left, he continued to harass us and show up at our house, drive by to scare me. We called the police, we got restraining orders, everything, yet the police never enforced the orders. Eventually the judge said he wasn't going to give us anymore. My mom got remarried and my father didn't like that. He drove by our new house, sent threatening texts and FB messages, sat outside our house while my brother nad I were there alone. I called the cops many times. Sometimes they never even showed up. My father wanted to kill us. He had said it in messages, on phone calls. Even told me how he would kill my stepdad. Yet the police still did nothing. I pretty much lost my faith in the legal system then. Anyways, thanks for coming to my TEDTalk
What I learned from this thread: The US healthcare system is a dumpster fire and most (not all) police officers abuse their power, got it 👍. All jokes aside, I really hate how most people are so greedy and self absorbed that the people who are actually good and helping society are suffering because of it :(
Now I want to fight humanity is it possible, how do I do it, and should I do it?

Obviously I'm not saying it's the only place this s**t applies to but it's shocking how many of these are well known to happen in USA. How anyone can claim it's the best country in the world with a straight face is beyond belief. The healthcare system is insane, I mean here insulin is free but all prescriptions are in Scotland, but England still charges something like £10 for prescriptions still give insulin for free. I couldn't even imagine being in a situation where I had to refuse treatment due to the cost. The system in USA is completely broken and folk need to open their eyes to the sad fact it's actually one of the worst
