After Seeing These 22 Women Remove Their Makeup You Will Never Be Able To Trust Anyone Again
It's a fact that beauty standards and different perceptions vary a lot across the world, not to mention that each person has his own understanding. After the rise of social media, the cult of beauty trends became so important that some people even go an extra mile to look pretty just for the appearance on the internet.
So what defines beauty? In some parts of the world, it's the Rubenesque full figured woman, in others - bushy brows and dark hair. In some parts of Asia, e.g., China, some people reach the whole new level of creativity regarding the definition of beauty. The new Asian makeup fad is to look as delicate as porcelain dolls. And though the porcelain doll makeup look is nothing new, these girls here take it very seriously. Application of professional makeup now means not only highlighting their existing features but also creating new ones with the help of fake skin extensions, false eyelashes, and even special effects makeup.
The video below, that went viral a few days ago, shows the process of Asian girls removing their "sculpted" faces, and most of them become completely unrecognizable. Scroll down to see the makeup transformations for yourself and let me know your opinion about this in the comments below! (h/t)

Wow she's got a beautiful face. The fake one is literally much worse lol, just bland "they say it's pretty" face, hers has beauty and character to it, shame she doesn't see that(does she?).
Asian Makeup Transformation
The "elf" one is straightout creepy imo. Her actual face is kind of really cute though, she should try using makeup to underline that instead
Asian Makeup Transformation
I think they use silicon or tape to draw back their cheeks and chins to get smaller angular look. Not sure tho

I guess it's just for internet pics. I would think it would show up as fake in real life. Maybe it's because I'm old, but putting on make-up for real life is enough of a pain, forget pasting c**p on my face for the internet!
Load More Replies...She looks like Joan Collins in the first picture. Like her real face better.
I can't comprehend how they make their eyes almost like anime, and their noses so tiny. I need video, I think.
Geez, the first one looks like my mother's Barbie doll from the 1950s... o.o
The eyes are enlarged with "Big Eye" lenses to get that anime look. It's supposed to make you look younger too.
Looks like a very early version of Joan Collins - fully made up.
Looks like her skin would break out from all that stuff being on it.
With the makeup she looks like a store mannequin: without it she looks super cute.
Wonder why all wants to be looks like a doll !! is it a culture of anime!
Forget about the makeup she probably used some special stuff to reshape her nose..
It's a use of prosthetics to give a more western 'taller' nose to the more Korean wider, flatter noses

The eyes... They make the biggest difference. And how do they even make their forehead smaller ? Is it just editing ? Idk
Asian Makeup Transformation
Are these ladies taping their faces to get that porclain doll look?

Why should anyone want to fake their own appearance so much??? Isn't make up ment to underline YOUR beauty...not to look like another person?!...Do that for halloween, cosplay or whatever...

I hate how some of them look at the last picture, so unhappy or apologetic for the way they REALLY look. It's just sad how some people feel like they have to literally wear a mask to feel "pretty" instead of loving themselves for who they are.

This girl is beautiful in her own right, so why the unnatural face to look like something else? Best love and acceptance is self love.

"This is why we have trust issues." Sorry that you thought these Asian girls were all born with round blue eyes that take up 1/3 of their face.
Yeeeah... If one is stupid enough to actually believe that these girls have managed to live their whole life without their eyes falling on the floor it might be a nice realitycheck when the tape comes off xD
Load More Replies...What is defined as "make up"? Clearly these women were removing a latex prosthetic, and not just simple makeup. In Hollywood it is known as spirit gum, which is akin to what these ladies used
Spirit gum is actually an adhesive used to attach a prosthetic. They were most likely using some form of latex, foam, silicone or something they built using 3rd degree.
Load More Replies...Am I the only one who preferred the pictures on the right? Many of them looked really cute! Someone of the makeup left ones were kinda creepy with the way-too-pale skin and unrealistic jaw line...
The fake noses coming off were really strange for me to watch, but I'm also super impressed with their talent and artistry! They look beautiful without any makeup at all, and the looks they put so much effort into are also amazing! Though I hope it's just for special occasions or cosplay, it would be fun to have such talent for something like that. But I couldn't imagine doing that every day and never having your "real face" show.
I wish I could get hold of some.. make my old face look young again :(
Load More Replies...Can people stop using the word "Trust" when describing these kind of posts? It really feels like linking aesthetics to character in a very weird way. "You would prefer your face look different and found a way to accomplish that, so you're not a trustworthy person." And it completely encourages the type of behavior your criticizing when you'd rather women not be so "fake" with their appearance but you have such a negative reaction to their real faces that it shatters your entire world view and system of "trust" in other people. Also, what's wrong with you that a woman's face shatters your entire world view and system of "trust"?
Fully agreed. That whole "can't trust women for makeup" thing is a toxic meme. Shame on this contributor for using that language. It could have easily taken the approach of cosplay and theatre (which is what this level of "makeup" is about). When it comes to makeup, women can't f*****g win. It's either "they're being fake/lying" or "they must wear makeup for us".
Load More Replies..."You'll never be able to trust anyone again." you thought these girls really had eyes that took up 80% of their face, had lips with such bold colours and had colourful eyelids?
I once saw Face/Off and now I will never be able to trust a John Travolta or Nicholas Cage movie again.
Wow that is some talent! Now I know that make-up done right, can make your eyes appear bigger, but do they put contact lenses to make the iris bigger too? That always baffled me.
Yes they use contact lenses. Some in the vid remove them.
Load More Replies...It's not make up, whe she just takes off a mask she is wearing... Ugh.
That doesn't look like something you'd use to just go out to a store or even a date, more like something you'd use for an anime style photoshoot or something(most of it, anyway). In the sense of creating an image, that's kinda really cool. In the sense of highlighting the natural beauty which imo is the biggest and best purpose of makeup in actual everyday life, not so much. I mean, if they do actually go out shopping, dating, just hanging out like that on a regular basis that kind of is a bit disturbing. If they're more like cosplaying, that's impressive.
True. Up close and in person all the make-up would be weirdly noticeable.
Load More Replies...Ca men just get over the "We hold women to impossible standards and then accuse them of cheating us of our right to their bodies when they try to resemble those standards, usually for their own entertainment and not ours as it should be" ?
Yes, I wish they would. I personally think makeup makes women fall into the Uncanny Valley. But the images in this article are seemingly all from extreme cosplay events, not examples of daily makeup.
Load More Replies...I must be strange each and everyone was much prettier without makeup.
I'd like some context as to why they're done up in all of this make-up? The one girl was dressed like an elf, so obviously that was some sort of "cosplay" thing. Are they all cosplay photos? I highly doubt this is their usual "day-to-day" make-up routine.
Why can they peel off their make up? And use scissors?? The f**k?? @-@ I have concerns... Maybe I'm doing my make up wrong...
Because they're not just using makeup. They're applying prosthetics.
Load More Replies...If you believed that the first pics look natural, you deserve to be tricked.
"You will never be able to trust anyone again?" Because it's their fault people may believe they actually have those eyes, elf ears, and silicone implants? Come on.
The tape is to hold the flesh around the jaw upwards, to create an illusion of a slimmer face. Quite genius, actually!
Load More Replies...For cosplay purposes. They're trying to look like anime characters.
Load More Replies...THANK YOU I TOTALLY AGREE EVERYONE IS JUST JUDGING THEM BUT SERIOUSLY.
Load More Replies...Without fail, I personally think, every one of these woman look much better w/o any make-up, that of course, is only my opinion. To each their own, if they like it and they feel good with it on, nothing wrong with that either. And if you're just looking for beauty on the outside then, I don't care what a woman or man looks like, looks change, you'll never be satisfied looking only on the outside..Added thought here (again my own personal feelings) I have always been super turned off by a guy that cat calls me or notices my looks excessively.
I don't think that most of the people commenting here understand what is going on. This is cosplay. They are purposely trying to look like anime. It's a thing. Don't reflect your own culture on these girls. Their skills at makeup are wicked!
I don't understand all the critism. If this is what makes them happy and make them feel beautifull, why try to take it away from them or call them fakes?
the way op said that women wearing makeup can't be trusted is ridiculous, but all u thinking that asian women are naturally pale and have big blue eyes is just as bad stop w/ ur european centric beauty standards smh
Um Asian wonen look like the lady in the photo without the tape and whatever. Talking about gullible. I thought everybody knew what Asian women look like for real.
i wish they had the gifs of them removing the clay/silicone/idk from their nose and cheeks, i've seen them and that shits wild they're lovely before and after, if theyre happy with sculpting their nose and cheeks, eh go for it
I used to live in Korea and remember all the ads for plastic surgery everywhere in the metro... Creepy ads with a normal-looking (preferably on the ugly side according to their standards) woman on the left hand side and some alien-looking doll on the other. I was shocked most of the time, thinking of all the suffering these women must go through just to have a tiny hope of success in this very elitist society... SAD.
Every one of these girls looks better naturally, without all that plastic anime makeup.
I admire the talent to be able to use makeup and prosthetics this way. I only hope that this is just done for the camera, and that this isn’t a daily routine for these girls. All of them look way better after removing this Halloween mask stuff.
These women are all beautiful the way they are without makeup! I blame Photoshop, videogames, and media editing for putting unrealistic expectations onto these women (and men, because I know some Asian men feel pressured to go this far too). Trust issues. If any of you think that a human being actually looks like a woodland elf, you're spending too much time on the computer. If you think that a human being has skin that unnaturally white, you're kidding yourself. These poor women are impacting their breathing so they can look like this, by putting a larger nose into an unreasonably small prosthetic. When you look at their heads vs. their bodies, you can see that the proportions are off; you're the ones lying to yourselves.
They are still pretty without the makeup. Well prettier than me-
This was insane!! Seriously tho, beauty standards these days. Nobody is born perfect. No one at all
why do they do this to themselves? theyre all so pretty. they dont need all that makeup
i dont like seeing people do this to themselves because everyone is perfict just the way they are and shouldn't want to look better or cuter :(
is this make up still if they have a molded nose and tape under their jaw? I am curious how to do it. Anyone's got info?
This article is a disappointment. You literally should try wording it better, because you came off as an a*****e. So, you don't want us to wear makeup because it's fake but if we show our real faces you criticize. Amazing logic. Furthermore, it's not anyone's choice what they do but theirs. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you're so f*****g r******d that you can't tell the difference between makeup and no makeup, I feel sorry for you. Honestly.
This is posted as makeup but it's about the equivalent of prosthetics. Were these originally intended as 'makeup' or meant for Cos play or those transformation videos where someone paints themselves up as living skeletons etc? My other thought is that if this is seriously meant as makeup /personal transformation then I'd much rather they did it this way than with the ridiculous plastic surgery that's being done now. I'm thinking like the human Ken doll guy, Barbie woman, that woman who used plastic surgery to look (nothing!) like Angelina Jolie etc. At least these ladies can peel off the face at the end of the day. I've never worn makeup, what you see is what you get, the end with me 😊

Half of the comments for the photos consist of some form of confusion as to why somebody would care that much about their looks? The other half is judging these women entirely based on their looks. Need I say more?
Actually many efforts are done by some mobile applications, not only make-ups. Try to search "B612" or "meitu" on the appstore (but I am not sure if they are accessible on your local app stores) you will definitely find out that those apps rebuild your face, enlarge your eyes and make your skin white (most of us don't like tan honestly... just cultural difference). So I am here just to say, make-up is useful, but after effects matter too.
I have always told my husband, that if men could see all these girls that they think are so "hot" without all that makeup or "help", they would REALLY be shocked. If I were a guy, I would be very leery about choosing someone because of the way they look because they will probably be in for a real shock. Anybody can look good when you cover up what you really look like. It's very deceiving.
As a westerner living in China I am familiar with this competitive art form practiced by bored super rich girls, there are far more of them than outsiders think, for "likes" on the local equivilants of Facebook etc. The point is to make the most drastic change possible to make people take notice of you. It takes time and talent to learn to do it right.
I don`t know what to think, I love the talent of whomever made their make-up, hate the insane standards and hell yeah I think some of them are cuter without tons of make-up
The thing is that we all love beauty, even when we may not have a fair face. Beautiful things or people make us feel very happy and spiritually cheers us up.
This made me sad to see all these women changing their look so drastically. A lot of the photos without makeup, you could see that they felt uncomfortable and didn't like they way they looked and that's really sad. They are all beautiful without all the makeup and tape.
Imagine hating your face so much that you will do anything to change it? Surgery and having your bones ground down to change your facial structure, or if you can't afford it wearing prosthetics daily. How sad is that? Although I'm not sure you can really change the shape of your jaw with tape...
These models, when made up, all look similar following the Manga Cartoon look. I have always said to others : You should still be recognizable if you don't have any on. Make-Up is supposed to enhance you Not Disguise You.
Perhaps their beauty ideals have been influenced by Manga and Anime, because that is how the 1st photos look. It could be that these are actually cosplay type characters, because I can't imagine anyone using that type of makeup on a regular basis. Those things in their eyes must be painful.
Some of these women it's their job, models actors. Internet China dolls. They can take theirs off where plastic surgery is more fake.
Why are all the example photos of Asian ladies? Rather disappointing... Because as much as I like Asian ladies I would have liked to see other races/nationalities as well.
makeup ? more like prosthetics god give me strength what a load of b/s
Beauty standards in the Asian community are insanely high. Here in the US we already have so many issues with body dysmorphia, I can only imagine what that type of beauty standard does to their psyche.
These make ups are just plain weird. At least the elf doesn't try to look human.
Don't be stupid. It's not make up but a face up these girls used. You people are gullible!
Sure it's the real life face changing technology without the hassle of high techs in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE.
My fiancee doesn't wear make-up, and she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen :3
all these women are prettier than me!! They have nothing to be ashamed of.
As a goth kid when I was young (50 now) it was fun to play with make up. It can be a very creative artistic way of expressing yourself, but no one should feel like they HAVE to wear it, or look like a doll!! I find that vaguely icky...
Ok, what the heck? What's the deal with all those weird face mask wax things? People care waaay to much about their appearances..
What bothers me the most is how many of the 'make up' pictures seem to be trying to make themselves look like young teens, babydollish.
How many women actually use silicone and rubber in their daily makeup?
And here I am, too lazy to put on foundation and when I do, I can't wait to take it off. Before anything else, we should applaud these ladies for their patience and determination.
Foundation... isn't it exactly perpetuating the skin conditions that call for its use?
Load More Replies...Most look sad or even embarrassed as they take their make up off. Well, that's the vibe I'm getting. I feel sorry for them.
They're removing all the cosplay prosthetics and it's probably both uncomfortable and sort of like destroying the effort they put into creating the mask.
Load More Replies...With help from Photoshop. Most have narrowed face with makeup and broader in last picture. Same as in video. More lies like this and this site gets blocked. How stupid do you think we are
No, there's latex and tape pulling on their skin to shape their faces. You can aid in that effect with mere coloring, too.
Load More Replies...Who is it that made them feel so ugly that they cant face the world with their own face.
I really hate how all these extreme makeup videos are only Asians. I know they're notorious for this look because they want to look Caucasian, but this really isn't sending across a good message. Asian girls in America are already insecure that makeup tutorials usually aren't made for them.
This is from extreme cosplay, not normal daily makeup. This level of cosplay is more popular outside the USA, in Japan and elsewhere.
Load More Replies...I see cute dolls with no personality whatsoever, looking all the same, and then on final photos, real, normal beautiful women with character and personality. Trust issues? Why, it's basically more mask than make up?
In nearly every instance, I found the "natural face" more appealing than the whimsical makeup, face tapes, nose slimmers, etc etc. Probably a lot of fun to transform one's look so dramatically, though.
This is waaay beyond makeup. This is more like a Mission Impossible scene.
Apparently I had no idea of the real powers of makeup, here I have been my entire life just adding some color meanwhile Asian women can morph themselves however they want. Don't like your jawline? No problem! Wow
That's because it's not makeup. It's prosthetics, for cosplay (anime), not daily makeup.
Load More Replies...Why? This is no different than watching genre TV where actors wear prosthetics to appear different from their natural faces. These women seem to be extreme cosplay participants. I highly doubt this level of facial change is even remotely normal for daily life.
Load More Replies...This obsession with alien sized eyeballs has got to go! I understand they are trying to mimic the way anime eyes look. And I get that they are trying to do things they see as more pretty. Everything they did was really neat to see it peeled off. But they are not 2d animations. Their eyes have depth. So making them bigger is just so freaky. I can't enjoy the work they have done.
Reminds me of Hannibal Lecter when he wore the face of the guard... o.0
Wtf! Is it real? That's super thick make-up. What do they use? Wax? Playdoh?
This kind of just made me sad. I mean, the effort to make this kind of makeup shows and it's absolutely stunning work but I very much hope that the beauty standards in Asia aren't following the porcelain anime girl looks for real. It's fine for a special event or occasion but in every day life it's just creepy. I prefer the real faces :)
Most of these women look so much better without all the c**p on their face.
No wonder that one dude in Asia asked for a divorce the night after their wedding day when the wife took off her face and showed her true self...
Tbh, I thought these were just weird. They weren't removing makeup, they were removing prosthetics.
To me, that plastic manga baby doll look is a huge horror show .. poor girls in the need to fullfill the brainwashing propaganda media 'beauty' style .. like all over .. in a time, where porn stars, pimps, and plastic surgeons define 'beauty' I am happy about every natural person I see .. be who u are, a beautiful lifeform ..
These are all very unsettling. The before pics are disturbing, it's sad that these women feel this distorted silicone makes them more beautiful, more "attractive" then their real face.
This is special effects. It wouldn't be much different if we saw some before and afters (after and befores?) of someone coming out of orc makeup from a Lord of the Rings movie.
Yeah... but those are trained professionals. These girls probably have almost no experience in SFX yet they look awesome. (And really? Comparing these gorgeous people to orcs? Not cool...)
Load More Replies...If you watch the video, they use tape of some sort to pull their chins back.
Load More Replies...Hey, at least they aren't afraid to take it all off when asked. They aren't trying to change themselves permanently. They wear their silicone on the outside, some wear theirs on the inside.
Load More Replies..."This is why we have trust issues." Sorry that you thought these Asian girls were all born with round blue eyes that take up 1/3 of their face.
