Why is this always the first thing I see on posts about women's experiences (in this thread both domestic violence and breast cancer)? Men are abused. More often than not they aren't believed. It is wrong. We had a toxic masculinity post the other day I think, it was an important underscore to what you are saying. Please can we just let a discussion happen, about domestic violence and confidence for women who have had mastectomies in this particular instance, without being reminded that men suffer too? Yes, I agree that some abused princes should also have been shown. I guess I'm just tired of seeing the comments under women's rights issues being about that men suffer it too. Because yes this is important, and isbeing discussed on other threads. TLDR: Yes both genders suffer. Can we have the conversation abouts women's rights without making it primarily about men and me-too ism? Keep on topic, on even one women's rights thread, just once?

Yes anyone with a brain knows that men are also abused. But the artist made these drawings in honor of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and breast cancer survivors. Breast cancer mainly affects afab individuals and domestic abuse mainly affects all women. No where does it say that men don't experience abuse or breast cancer. If you think that art is a good way to raise awareness on those topics, then go make some ?! Cause rn you sound like someone commenting on a "save the polar bears" article that elephants are also endangered.

Because me too isms achieve nothing when you don't actually take the time to read the point of the article. It's in honour of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against WOMEN. When you write a 'yeah but men face this too' you trivialize the issue faced by women which is what is being highlighted right now. There is a time and a place and if you feel there is no time and place then make one BUT make one at a time that will gain you the support of women for your cause. As it is, it's like complaining during black history month that the Irish have been mistreated. They were but... alot less prevalent historically and... regardless it's not the time nor the place. Complain in March. If you wanted to add that transwomen face violence, sure because that is something that could be related in the day. But to say 'oh well also men' 1. Trivializes how much it affects women 2. Lowers the impact of your argument. Because you seem disrespectful towards women.

Then start one about men getting abused. This is an international campaign for the elimination of abuse towards Women. Start your own movement.
