Cats are masters of camouflage, and this kitty is no different. In fact, she’s so good at it, her owner, an Alaskan artist who goes by the nickname Ristay, even made a comic (and attached a few actual photos) to demonstrate her skills.

“Petunia, the small black cat, is a rescue and is very skittish,” Ristay told Bored Panda. “We call her our spooky baby. She loves and adores me but any other person, she runs and hides. She has no fear or nervousness with Atreyu, our black German Shepherd.”

So when Petunia goes missing, Ristay sometimes finds her with Atreyu. Although not that easily.

“I drew the comic one night when I was at my wit’s end because I couldn’t find her, and I had searched for Atreyu all over the place. She was under his tail with her eyes closed so no reflection!” Ristay said.

Petunia has been cuddling with Atreyu ever since she was a little baby. And it’s not just the kitty who enjoys it. The German Shepherd likes receiving affection as well, which is very understandable considering his past. “Atreyu is a rescue. He was beaten and abused as a pup, starved, and malnourished as well,” his owner explained. “When we adopted him, we didn’t know what kind of personality he would have due to the abuse but we knew he was our baby no matter what. He ended up being the perfect dog, very loving. Adores our cats too.”

Ristay has two cats and two dogs, almost all rescues! “My other two beasts are my other German Shepherd, Jaeger (just an all-round lovable goofball pup), and Diesel, my gray fluffy cat. He has a fan following for his ‘seductive poses.'”

For the most part, all of Ristay’s pets get along great, and have become really attached to each other. “I’ll come home to a pile of animals, all waiting for me to join them,” the artist said. “They also all stalk me as I am ‘the mother ship.'”

The only one who showed some signs of jealousy was Diesel. “He had a life crisis when we brought home Petunia. He had never seen another cat in his life before, Ristay explained. “I got a black eye out of that one, but once he realized what she was, he fell in love.”

For real, though, when I was kid I thought all dogs were boys and all cats were girls and that they grew up and got married and had little babies. If they had a girl, it was a cat; boy, dog.

I can see someone talking with their landlord - "No, I've got just the one pet, just like the lease says. Why do you ask?" LOL
