Apple Reveals Its Newest $549 AirPods, The Internet Comes Up With 30 Hilarious Memes And Reactions
At this point, it has sort of turned into a beautiful tradition for people to take some time after each new Apple release, roll up their sleeves, and craft some hilarious memes roasting the product. And as you may already know, this week, the company has unveiled their new AirPods Max—wireless headphones featuring high-fidelity audio, active noise cancellation, and other impressive properties. But here's the thing—these new headphones cost a pretty penny, to say the least. $549, to be exact. And even though it shouldn't be that much of a shocker knowing Apple, some people were indeed quite shocked by the price tag. And that's how the meme treatment began.
Some people took it a step further and dived in to do a more thorough investigation into the new Apple headphones. Apparently, there are some more hilarious things about this product. For instance, some folks started noticing how the carrying case that these AirPods Max come with sort of looks like a purse or a bra. The list goes on.

I never bought an Apple product, so I don't judge their price or quality. The market is based on supply and demand. It may not be worth it for me, but it's worth it for some others, and who am I to say? I can find (probably just as) good quality alternatives for lower price, and I find no reason to splurge, but if someone else does, I don't think it's ridiculous either. (Of course if they use Apple albeit not being so well-off then it IS ridiculous). Apple keeps pricing their products highly because they sell. And if they sell, then their price IS appropriate.

I've had an iPhone before. I wasn't impressed. Honestly, I feel like because there's more competition in the Android market, there's more innovation and a drive to be better. Apple is the boutique product that looks good, functions, but is really just a brand.

Or people who are rich... it is all a matter of perspective. For most people, spending $549 is the kind of purchase you should stop and think about. But for someone who has 100x more money than you... this is just a casual purchase. Like you buying something for $5.50 vs a different brand for $2.25. Sure, the $2.25 one is a better deal, but if the $5.50 one amuses you, then what the heck, buy it for a laugh.

I've got a pair of wireless earphones that cost me £40 ( over £100 cheaper than airpods) and I genuinely prefer them to my old airpods. So yea.. airpods are a rip off that people only buy because they're apple and it makes them seem "rich" or something.

This is exactly why I abandoned Apple products years ago. They aren't innovating anything, they're making the same stuff that Android companies are making, but for ten times the price.

I had some airpods. Then I bought a backup pair of cheap £40 wireless earphones and now my airpods have been gifted to someone else because I genuinely prefer the cheaper ones. xD

I wear my headphones...A Lot. I got them second hand from my sister and they are Bose. And I also used to sell Bose as a profession. They are still, hands down, some of the best I have used. Retailing at around $345 brand new.....I love them. They are a solid 6 years old and still going strong with zero issues. And I certainly cannot afford this even if I wanted....

It's funny, when Samsung creates something and it ends up on a blog, Apple people don't care. You don't see "You idiots should buy quality. Buy Apple!". They just go about their business and let you like what you like, but when Apple releases anything people get really angry. It's kinda funny. I like my Apple stuff. You can like your stuff. Yeah, but I bet half of these people (probably more) have an iPhone or Mac. They can sell these at ridiculous prices for the same reason rents are so damn high; people will complain, but in the end just accept it and pay up. Welcome to the era of Captive Consumerism.

Come on, Apple are a status symbol, I know people who both can and can't afford them who have them, neither can justify it, you get vague "superior technology" waffle but none of them use it for anything techy, nothing that a device 1/3 if the price couldn't do.

Good quality headphones are expensive though. I pay $450 for mine (replace them as needed) and it’s worth it. I could pay $20 for a pair but then I wouldn’t get noise canceling, base, comfort without a headache, good microphones, long battery life etc. You get what you pay for, and Apple usually stands for high quality.
