Everyone finds themselves feeling anxious from time to time, and it’s a completely normal human emotion in many life situations. However, for those who suffer from mental disorders, anxiety attacks and distress occur with a debilitating frequency that can seriously hamper a person’s quality of life.
Types of anxiety disorders range from social phobia and extreme self-consciousness to panic attacks, OCD, and more specific phobias of things like heights and bugs. Episodes come and often go at random; one day you could feel on top of the world while the next you are unable to leave the house or answer a phone call. Writing and deleting messages over and again to make sure you get just the right tone and select the appropriate emoji.
While mental health is certainly no laughing matter, sometimes the best medicine IS laughter. Bored Panda has compiled a list of funny posts and best Tweets that anxiety sufferers can totally relate to, check them out below, and have a chuckle at your own neurotic everyday problems. If nothing else, they will help you realize that anxiety is way more common than you think, and you’re certainly not alone!

And then you get stressed at the end of the weekend because that exam is on Tuesday and c**p you were supposed to study and you're going to fail and die a painful death without ever living your life Quite literally my life at this moment
then i pull down the shades and hope no one notices it's a bit drafty in here
Anxiety: "Just any and every single one of the things you're gonna do/hear/see"
"There's a big social thing in 8 hours, wanna come with me?" "Nope, not nearly enough time to start preparing myself mentally."
What if they brought this decision because of you? Oh, the guilt of spoiling the fun and happiness... What if they're actually going to meet, but just wanna leave you out? Oh, the feeling of being left out. What if something terrible happened, and you're here suspecting they're lying, while really someone got seriously hurt? Oh, thw guilt again... What it..... *enda in fade out*
Or when you meet someone from a country who does the cheek kiss. Oh God, is it one kiss or two?? Do I actually kiss their cheek or just make a kiss noise beside their cheek?? What if our heads go in the same direction?? Oh God!
Here comes the play by play recap with zoom and camera shots from different angles.
*doesn't say anything out of nervousness ,then i'm afraid people will think i'm fake and lying, then i worry...and worry...and worry
But what about feeling anxious about not having been invited because everybody obviously hate you?
I had someone tell me she had an anxiety disorder and that I just needed to learn to get over being anxious in the literal same sentence. I wanted to smack her.
I forgive people quickly and I really don't think about what THEY did...the moment I make them mad though I think and worry about it for YEARS.
it's like a comic about this i saw somewhere when god just says "f**k it" and hits randomize on people
This headline gives me anxiety, my OCD is in overdrive trying to fix this! Ugh!
God i wish that worked for me. I eat more when im depressed/having an issue with anxiety
people: why don't you ever use your imagination? when I actually use my imagination , (but I unfortunately have humor that gets dark): why don't you ever use your imagination?
Sadlly, I decided already as a child not to get children myself because nobody should have all the anxiety and depressions I have.
me when I'm on the phone with my friends and they ask what I'm doing...
I was anxious to make it through all these anxiety posts....Now i'm anxious that it's over...
The most Anxiety I feel is right before I am about to leave a comment on a post. The anxiety of possibly losing a point is often too much for me.
Load More Replies...At least somebody posted the "first time you met your dog" thread the same day as this one so we have something to chill out to after this one gets you feeling all uncomfortable.
Except my dog also has anxiety and when we first met it took her two days to get off the couch and three weeks for me to get her to go outside without pulling her, and she still doesn't want to go to new places at all.
Load More Replies...I was laughing and loving these, and then.... I had to take a break because my anxiety kicked in! Aghhh haha foot bouncing and heart racing.
Actually I found this thread very informative. I, myself, may have a twinge of anxiety but my husband says he's anxious but can't explain what he means by anxious. Now I have a much bigger understanding. Thanks!
was convinced i didn't have much anxiety until reading everything on this post and relating to everything!!
I'm a new mom. I always had anxiety and depression. I just cried because my baby has a growth spurt and she's fussy, but all my brain tells me is that I'm failing. It's a vicious circle: I have anxiety because I think I'm failing but I know it's just my brain that hates me but I still get worried that I'm not doing anything right and then I have more anxiety and so on. I wonder how my SO is still with me.
It's so much easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Just do your s**t. Be your own person. Take responsibility. Be a productive member of society. And before you say, "easier said than done." No, it's not. You control your brain, not the other way round. Make that decision and OWN IT.
I do want to thank you. One sure fire short term cure for anxiety is getting well and truly pissed. Soooo, thanks for a great 24 hours!
