Kat Von D Said She’ll Raise Her Unborn Child Vegan And Without Vaccinations, So This Mom Shut Her Down

Kat Von D has over 12M followers on Facebook and nearly 6,5M followers on Instagram. So, when this tattoo artist and cosmetics entrepreneur says something, people hear it. That’s why Caroline Hirons had a problem with Kat’s recent anti-vaccine claims. To illustrate her point, she told about her son’s brutal battle against mumps.
Celebrities (most notably Jenny McCarthy) have been linked with impacting the number of parents who choose vaccines. McCarthy pushed against the MMR vaccine, in part blaming it for her son’s autism diagnosis. It was followed by record numbers of measles cases in the U.S. After the fraudulent study was retracted, however, the vaccine rates started to come back up.

My great grandmother had 11 children. Four of them died in their early years, due to childhood illnesses. If she were here, I'd ask her opinion of vaccines.

Spot on! My thoughts too. Kat is so dumb, she thinks we can survive the 1930's type of way of living. I hope a new law is passed so there is no choice allowed, only vaccinate that's it.

Well yes. The planet is over crowded, we are destroying this beautiful earth. We will suffer with food production, water but let's keep fighting nature killing viruses that keep populations under control and continue to extend the life of humans. Not if u used herbal and naturopathic medicine which cures all disease, whereas the no 1 killer now is drug medicine. People still die in their 30s and 40s and hardly live longer now than then, the stats look bad then due to child deaths, most of them caused by smallpox vaccination, and vaccinators

What? smallpox vaccination is made from cowpox - which is mild, non-fatal and cannot cause smallpox. Jenner made the brilliant link that the only people to not contract smallpox were the poor working class farming community who had been exposed to cowpox - hence the discovery of vaccinations

If herbal and naturopathic medicine cured anything, we wouldn't have needed the vaccines. I bet you were vaccinated as a child. Because if you had ever had either of the measles, mumps or chicken pox, you would not ever want your child to experience the misery of having them. I was in the 6th grade when the health dept. came to school and we were given the smallpox and polio vaccines. All the other vaccines came many years later. Read about Roald Dahl and Patricia Neal's daughter, who died from measles. I made damn sure my kids got all the vaccines that were available for them including chickenpox. I remember how miserable it was to be inflicted with these illnesses especially chickenpox. Why would you not vaccinate a child and let them run the risk of possible mental or physical lifelong handicaps or even death?

I think everything has been said about anti-vacciners. They are stupid, selfish, and ultimately wrong in their arguments and motives. However, what strikes me is that not more of the "18+ trillion followers" rage about her domineering tone. What about all the mothers who wished for nothing but the best for their children but did NOT manage to have the, according to Kat von D, only acceptable way of birthing, at home, with a doula and no doctor etc. etc.? Even ignoring the anti-vacinnation nonsense, this self-righteouness should make people angry!

Hahahaha i planned a water birth no drugs quiet music .....my reality was COMPLETELY different! I was three weeks overdue baby was NOT coming on her own, because she didn’t fit being she was 3 weeks over!! I ended up having a failed induction I suffered ptsd from the ordeal and had an emergency c section, you can plan all you like baby will either come when they’re ready OR you might need help! It doesn’t make you less of a mother if your way of birthing is different to the plan. The whole schpeal vegan natural only blah blah is condescending it doesn’t make her know more than anyone and is utter nonsense But once she has a kid it’ll be a different story haha

My nephew's lungs were underdeveloped at birth even though he was full term.and if he wasn't born in a hospital where he could be rushed to ICU he would be dead.so no,a home birth is not a good idea it could cost you and/or your child's life.and dont even get me started on the vaccines! i don't like this woman

I somewhat feel sorry for them, since we've been lied to so much by the pharmaceutical companies, with the help of the government, but my reasoning was that the chance of my daughter getting sick was higher than her chance of developing autism, and even if she did develop autism, she would still be alive. If I had a child who had many allergies, I might think twice, but with a healthy child, there was no doubt about my decision. I just wonder how many chemicals & what kind are in her ink? I have tattoos also, but if I was so "all natural" that I wouldn't even vaccinate, I sure wouldn't want to chance tattooing.

Your reasoning makes absolute sense but the autism MMR link has been thoroughly disproved now by physicians and scientists. Andrew Wakefield was found guilty by the General Medical Council of serious professional misconduct in May 2010 and was struck off the Medical Register, meaning he could no longer practice as a doctor in the UK. Wakefield's paper re the link between MMR and autism was described as "perhaps, the most damaging medical hoax of the last 100 years". Unfortunately he has merely moved elsewhere and is still endangering lives with his misinformation.

Just a little background so you can understand where I stand on this vaccination issue and why. I have two sons, born 5 years apart. They both had the same vaccinations. The older one shared top honors in his high school graduating class with another person. The younger one is another story all together. He was diagnosed being in the light to medium autism range by Emory University Autism Research Center at the age of 5. We were told that he might not ever be able to carry on an intelligible conversation. We refused to believe this diagnosis was 100 percent correct. As time went on, we proved them wrong. We discovered that he was hyper sensitive to most of the artificial color and preservatives in foods. It would cause extreme hyper-activity and combativeness. Because of this, I have read everything I could get my hands on that was publicly available. ALL of this research points toward a genetic defect that occurs before birth.

Kittie, yeah, so it's vegan. Still not all-natural. Neither is makeup, and yet Kat is a makeup icon in her own right. I'd love to see her saute - no makeup, no fancy hairdo, no photo filters, just the real, tired human being she is when she wakes up early in the morning. I don't think the birth itself might go wrong, but later if she refuse to breastfeed because it's not "vegan" ( I hate that tough, mammals are made to breastfeed whatever they eat plants or meat ) and the baby won't get the good stuff to increase the immunesystem ( aside if the baby in rare cases happen to be lactose intolerant ofc ). Also the vaccinations people usually get as babies, like Poliovaccines.

I did briefly wonder about that, humans are just a type of animal after all. Apparently vegans do not consider human breastmilk non-vegan (though there may be the odd extremist exception) as the key difference is that humans are able to consent whereas animals are forced into it and there's usually inhuman practices associated with milking.

Lactose intolerance only applies to "I think" cow milk. I can drink goats milk fine and I'm lactose intolerant. So it wouldn't apply to human breast milk being fed to a human baby. On a somewhat similar note some other creatures can not even stomach cows milk but can be fine on goats milk for example.

Kat can have a midwife and be a vegan. That choice only affects her and her family. Vaccination affects everyone. The MOST unselfish thing a person can do is get vaccinated because you are trying to save an innocent person from getting a virus YOU might be carrying if you had NOT gotten vaccinated.

A doula is not a what but a who- usually a woman who assists the midwife and perhaps helps care for the baby while the mother recovers from childbirth.

Not a midwife, but more like a midwife's helper. We were not able to have any family around when our child was born (everybody live far away), and the Doula was invaluable. Over the time that my wife was in labor I could grab something to eat, pick up some of the baby stuff, etc., and the Doula stayed around to help and advocate for my wife.

You'd rather feel right and special than take care of your kids' health and safety - the epitome of selfishness. That's a bit of a leap, I've not heard of her before this and I'm against the anti-vaccine movement for the same reasons I'm against the flat Earth movement, it's BS but she's on her own social media account asking people not preach at her for sharing her experience, it's not domineering and she's not telling anyone else what they have to do, I don't personally agree with some of her choices but lets not make stuff up.

Your response makes me angry and most of the others here. If your child is vaccinated why do you fear unvaccinated kids? Arent urs safe then? Well flash news there arent! Because no vaccination can safe you surely. And again flash news, even vaccinated children can carry on the „illness“ to others although they dont seem to get ill. So safing others through vaccination is pure nonsense! On the other habd i know people getting ill and paralyzed on one side and other equivalent side effects.... plz tell me then how this will affect you or your children ??? Mumps are ineffective and two virologists MAKING the vaccines have sued Merck for trying to get them to falsify effectiveness by salting their tests with (illegal) antibodies from animals to pretend it had an effectiveness it DOES NOT HAVE. I grew up gettin wild mumps, measles, and chicken pox plus who knows what else. 20X greater than if you had it prepubescently. Vaccines are "so safe" that the NVICP (do you even know what that is) has paid out $4,000,000,000 for proven vaccine death and damages. That is from between 1% and 10% of the actual damages since MDs do NOT report vaccines at all even when the ER reports mandate it. Vaccine "effectiveness" is a LEGAL term which has NOTHING AT ALL to do with how much it protects you from diseases. Nothing. It calls "antigen response" the sign of vaccine effectiveness. Antigens are substances your body removes with antibodies - allergens, toxins, pathogens, dead cells, etc. There is a group of people who cannot make antibodies at all -about 6% to 10% of the people (meaning that even IF there were such a thing as herd immunity we'd NEVER make 95% compliance w/antibody protection the idiots claim we need now) It was called agammaimmunoglobuminaemia - and these people got the SAME diseases and had the SAME cure rates and cure times as folks who make antibodies

Not totally true? Witches were hunted for being women that was more intelligent ( misonogy yay, bu there was male witches too, but did they get burned? ), herbs and stuff they used back then paved the way for todays medicine, but yeah we should still use todays medicine, herbs paved the way alongside science as it grew, but it's not the destination, we are still paving a way, but certainly a greater way today.

Women were burned, hanged, stoned, etc., for making the men in power feel uncomfortable. Accusations of witchcraft were excuses for murdering women who were smart, accomplished, old and needed care, read things that men didn't understand, weren't subservient enough, were too good looking, etc. Women herbalists were competition for male "doctors", women preachers were competition for male priests and other religious figures, etc. Men who threatened the power structure were also considered threats and accused of witchcraft, but it was mostly women.

We're not frikken' batteries. "Electric foods" is a meaningless term invented by somebody who doesn't understand the most basic concepts of biology. He manages to convince people who even more ignorant than he is, by throwing out terms like "genome" without actually understanding what any of those terms mean. His "explanation" of how the body works is so laughably ridiculous, that I don't even know where to begin. He doesn't understand what proteins do, he doesn't understand how the nervous system works, he doesn't understand how the body produces Vitamin D, or even what Vitamin D is or does. Mosheh Wolf, how do you think the human body works? It's not electricity its ENERGY, we eat food that is turned into nutrients and energy that our bodies use to run. Without that you start loosing body heat. so no we are not batteries per-say but we would be like a capacitor. I somewhat feel sorry for them, since we've been lied to so much by the pharmaceutical companies, with the help of the government, but my reasoning was that the chance of my daughter getting sick was higher than her chance of developing autism, and even if she did develop autism, she would still be alive. If I had a child who had many allergies, I might think twice, but with a healthy child, there was no doubt about my decision. I just wonder how many chemicals & what kind are in her ink? I have tattoos also, but if I was so "all natural" that I wouldn't even vaccinate, I sure wouldn't want to chance tattooing.

Your reasoning makes absolute sense but the autism MMR link has been thoroughly disproved now by physicians and scientists. Andrew Wakefield was found guilty by the General Medical Council of serious professional misconduct in May 2010 and was struck off the Medical Register, meaning he could no longer practice as a doctor in the UK. Wakefield's paper re the link between MMR and autism was described as "perhaps, the most damaging medical hoax of the last 100 years". Unfortunately he has merely moved elsewhere and is still endangering lives with his misinformation.

Just a little background so you can understand where I stand on this vaccination issue and why. I have two sons, born 5 years apart. They both had the same vaccinations. The older one shared top honors in his high school graduating class with another person. The younger one is another story all together. He was diagnosed being in the light to medium autism range by Emory University Autism Research Center at the age of 5. We were told that he might not ever be able to carry on an intelligible conversation. We refused to believe this diagnosis was 100 percent correct. As time went on, we proved them wrong. We discovered that he was hyper sensitive to most of the artificial color and preservatives in foods. It would cause extreme hyper-activity and combativeness. Because of this, I have read everything I could get my hands on that was publicly available. ALL of this research points toward a genetic defect that occurs before birth.

Kittie, yeah, so it's vegan. Still not all-natural. Neither is makeup, and yet Kat is a makeup icon in her own right. I'd love to see her saute - no makeup, no fancy hairdo, no photo filters, just the real, tired human being she is when she wakes up early in the morning. Not gonna happen - she has an image to preserve, right? :>

I don't think the birth itself might go wrong, but later if she refuse to breastfeed because it's not "vegan" ( I hate that tough, mammals are made to breastfeed whatever they eat plants or meat ) and the baby won't get the good stuff to increase the immunesystem ( aside if the baby in rare cases happen to be lactose intolerant ofc ). Also the vaccinations people usually get as babies, like Poliovaccines.

I did briefly wonder about that, humans are just a type of animal after all. Apparently vegans do not consider human breastmilk non-vegan (though there may be the odd extremist exception) as the key difference is that humans are able to consent whereas animals are forced into it and there's usually inhuman practices associated with milking.

Lactose intolerance only applies to "I think" cow milk. I can drink goats milk fine and I'm lactose intolerant. So it wouldn't apply to human breast milk being fed to a human baby. On a somewhat similar note some other creatures can not even stomach cows milk but can be fine on goats milk for example.

Kat can have a midwife and be a vegan. That choice only affects her and her family. Vaccination affects everyone. The MOST unselfish thing a person can do is get vaccinated because you are trying to save an innocent person from getting a virus YOU might be carrying if you had NOT gotten vaccinated.

A doula is not a what but a who- usually a woman who assists the midwife and perhaps helps care for the baby while the mother recovers from childbirth.

Not a midwife, but more like a midwife's helper. We were not able to have any family around when our child was born (everybody live far away), and the Doula was invaluable. Over the time that my wife was in labor I could grab something to eat, pick up some of the baby stuff, etc., and the Doula stayed around to help and advocate for my wife.

You'd rather feel right and special than take care of your kids' health and safety - the epitome of selfishness. That's a bit of a leap, I've not heard of her before this and I'm against the anti-vaccine movement for the same reasons I'm against the flat Earth movement, it's BS but she's on her own social media account asking people not preach at her for sharing her experience, it's not domineering and she's not telling anyone else what they have to do, I don't personally agree with some of her choices but lets not make stuff up.

Your response makes me angry and most of the others here. If your child is vaccinated why do you fear unvaccinated kids? Arent urs safe then? Well flash news there arent! Because no vaccination can safe you surely. And again flash news, even vaccinated children can carry on the „illness“ to others although they dont seem to get ill. So safing others through vaccination is pure nonsense! On the other habd i know people getting ill and paralyzed on one side and other equivalent side effects.... plz tell me then how this will affect you or your children ??? These are just some reasons not to vaccinate. Luckily its no problem here in germany. But france for example urges people to, by law or exclusion for example....

That is from between 1% and 10% of the actual damages since MDs do NOT report vaccines at all even when the ER reports mandate it. Vaccine "effectiveness" is a LEGAL term which has NOTHING AT ALL to do with how much it protects you from diseases. Nothing. It calls "antigen response" the sign of vaccine effectiveness. Antigens are substances your body removes with antibodies - allergens, toxins, pathogens, dead cells, etc. There is a group of people who cannot make antibodies at all -about 6% to 10% of the people (meaning that even IF there were such a thing as herd immunity we'd NEVER make 95% compliance w/antibody protection the idiots claim we need now) It was called agammaimmunoglobuminaemia - and these people got the SAME diseases and had the SAME cure rates and cure times as folks who make antibodies

Not totally true? Witches were hunted for being women that was more intelligent ( misonogy yay, bu there was male witches too, but did they get burned? ), herbs and stuff they used back then paved the way for todays medicine, but yeah we should still use todays medicine, herbs paved the way alongside science as it grew, but it's not the destination, we are still paving a way, but certainly a greater way today.

Women were burned, hanged, stoned, etc., for making the men in power feel uncomfortable. Accusations of witchcraft were excuses for murdering women who were smart, accomplished, old and needed care, read things that men didn't understand, weren't subservient enough, were too good looking, etc. Women herbalists were competition for male "doctors", women preachers were competition for male priests and other religious figures, etc. Men who threatened the power structure were also considered threats and accused of witchcraft, but it was mostly women.

Another load of pseudo-scientific bullcrap. Non-hybrid foods? Every agricultural product that people have eaten for the past 10,000 years is a hybrid. The body doesn't "produce electricity". We're not frikken' batteries. "Electric foods" is a meaningless term invented by somebody who doesn't understand the most basic concepts of biology. He manages to convince people who even more ignorant than he is, by throwing out terms like "genome" without actually understanding what any of those terms mean. His "explanation" of how the body works is so laughably ridiculous, that I don't even know where to begin. He doesn't understand what proteins do, he doesn't understand how the nervous system works, he doesn't understand how the body produces Vitamin D, or even what Vitamin D is or does. He doesn't understand an electrolyte is or what an ion is. His "diet" and followers are the ignorant leading the even more ignorant.

Without that you start loosing body heat. so no we are not batteries per-say but we would be like a capacitor.
