Someone Just Turned ‘Spongebob’ Into Anime, And Your Childhood Might Be Ruined
For most of us, Spongebob Squarepants was an indispensable part of our childhood. Someone just made an Anime version of everyone’s favourite cartoon, and people really can’t decide whether they want to laugh or cry.
The 1-minute 47-second video shows the beloved cast of Spongebob redrawn as Japanese-style animations, and follows the format of a typical Anime opening scene – blood, guts, drama and all. While some people are calling it the best thing since canned bread, others feel straight-up uncomfortable with it. The author, Narmak, has written that the video was just a side project done on spare time, and that we shouldn’t be expecting a full Spongebob Anime series. We can’t lie, though – we would probably watch it if it came to be.

I would love to take someone that never watched spongebob and show them this video than show them the actual show

This was so weird, but so awesome as well! From a major anime fan, and a major spongebob fan.. This is a great fan spinoff :) I'd watch it (if it had a decent plot). Love the Squidward x Spongebob!

I guess that the drawing style changed and another OP was added, but how the heck is this 'better than the original'? The altered storyline only seems really cliche with fight scenes and Spongebob and Squidward having a romantic relationship for some strange reason. I'm a fan of both anime and spongebob, but to me, this thing doesn't seem to apply either a anime OR the loveable cartoon. I apologise to people who like this vid, but this really isn't what I hoped for when I heard 'Spongebob Anime', or 'Better Than the Original'. Only a few remakes will ever be better or as good as the original, and this one just wasn't for me. Just my personal opinion.
