If you ever tried cutting a simple snowflake out of paper, you should be able to appreciate the incredibly delicate paper art by Patrick Cabral. This multi-disciplinary artist is based in the Philippines and he has just created a gorgeous paper cut-out series to raise awareness of endangered animals from all over the world.

Cabral stacks layers upon layers of intricate paper cut-outs to create sculpture-like 3D works of art depicting wild animals from all over the world who share one defining feature - each of them belongs to endangered species. The highly complex and abstract facial patterns of these beautiful animals serve as a metaphor, reminding them about their fragility. The populations of these pangolins, snow leopards and other majestic creatures are frail, just like the unique artwork that represents them.

Also, to do his part, Cabral sells his beautiful art through an online art auction site called Acts of Kindness, and as an act of kindness, he donates 50% of all the earnings to the World Wide Fund for Nature in the Philippines.

Aren't they no longer endangered? Nonetheless, this looks impeccable.

These deserve a special shoing at your local art museum and/or natural history museum.
