There's nothing quite like your pet. They soothe, they're smooth, and they're worthy of a smooch. Even though every one of them is unique and they're irreplaceable, it still doesn't mean that you wouldn't want to "copy" them just so you can see more of them. And the toy creators at Petsies multiply the joy by creating replicas of people's pets, just in case you want to have two of the same, or commemorate the precious memory of a pet who "crossed the rainbow bridge."
And they don't just stamp out one toy after another without putting much thought into it. They personalize each detail individually, and if your pet has their own unique quirks, they will happily add them to the stuffed animal. The whole process takes patience, so it takes around six weeks for them to create a single plushie. And to prove it, they post side-by-side comparisons on their Instagram, and sometimes the pets act as if the toy was their own little sibling.

As mentioned, the whole process is very intricate and takes a long time to create just one plushie. First, they ask for a photo and pick the appropriate body type, choosing a matching eye color and form of the nose. Each piece of fabric is cut and sewn by hand. After that, they add the soft fur, airbrushing the unique pattern of the pet on the plushie, and voila! that's how they're made.
And the whole idea of having a copy of your pet is not only just cute, but it's also quite useful and even wholesome. Many people grieve the loss of their pets, and those pets that are not here anymore are always missed, so having the opportunity to have something close to your heart close to you physically is a gift many are happy to pay for. It provides comfort and a way to cope with the loss and creates an opportunity to reminisce about the good times.
Their Instagram shares stories about how their toy helped many people on a segment called Feature Friday. For example, one buyer's cousin with special needs (who is at the top of the list) unexpectedly lost his dog more than six months ago, and the whole experience has been very traumatic and hard to deal with. Receiving a Petsie of his favorite dog Ivy opened room for healing and coping, as well as some minor comfort.
There are tons of stories like this that you might find on their social media, so we encourage you to go there and read some of them, and the overwhelmingly positive reviews will definitely warm your heart. So head on over there and do that; you don't have to buy the toy to support the company, you can do that by following them on their respective social media pages and helping extend the reach of this wholesome mission.
I thought it was more like "What the floof, hooman?".
Load More Replies...Agreed- some were REALLY good yet others weird. All the cats looked like stuffed animals
Load More Replies...A couple seem to be “spot on” (har har), but a lot of them lack attention to the detail of where spots n things are. If they’re going to go this far (I mean they still fairly realistic in most cases), just go all the way.
Scroll down, there are cats, and a rabbit. Not as realistic as the dogs though...
Load More Replies...Awww... made me cry. We just found our baby's cancer has spread. We're getting closer to that rainbow bridge.
That's not what a backup is! Next time your laptop dies, I'll hand you a fluffy copy and let's see if it was a 'backup' indeed.
Just looked at their website. Seems like an amazing product, but these things are not cheap.
How do you post a photo? There's another company that does this and makes slippers. I have slippers of my dog and bought a stuffed animal from Petsies for my nephew!
That sounds awesome! (Did you mean slippers *for your dog?)
Load More Replies...How much do they cost? I wouldn’t mind getting one of my little Florio
I wonder if they would make 3 for me, but I would need them sent to the UK . What a wonderful talent they have. BP haven’t added their w§ebsite. Does anyone know please ?
The Frenchies are the best. Some of the others are pretty bad and I bet they are horribly expensive. They need to work on paws and more accurate coloring for most.
Meanwhile if you want a really good replica of your rat, mouse or guinea pig, go to citrinemouse.net/ They're brilliant!
The dogs look so lifelike, but the cats... not so much. And #54 does not even look anything like the photo provided. Very disappointing as my cat has not long died, and this would have been amazing.
They have this already. I think Barbra Streisand did this? It’s like 50k per animal as the have to clone the DNA then it still has to be grown in another animal like a test tube baby. I know somewhere a person has been cloned. If we can clone animals for the cost of nice car it’s not that hard
