A few years ago I had never heard of animal cafes. Even the concept seemed unthinkable. Fast-forward a few years (and a move to Seoul), and animal cafes are a big part of life here. For those people who can’t have pets due to small apartments, animal cafes provide some much-needed animal contact.

Provided that the cafe treats their animals well and that they aren’t overwhelmed, I love the idea. I don’t have a pet of my own here, and being able to see animals is always a calming and stress-freeing experience.

Not only are there cat and dog cafes, but also meerkats, raccoons, sheep and more!
