Amber Heard Poses With Champagne Glass In Rare Photo Following Move And Name Change
Amber Heard broke her silence with a rare post in honor of her 38th birthday.
In the picture, shared on Wednesday (April 23), a day after her birthday, the Aquaman star posed in a gold turtleneck with minimalist makeup as she sipped on champagne.
“Champagne kind of birthday,” the actress wrote alongside the photo.
Amber had last posted on social media three months ago, following the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

The Texas-born star’s online silence began in 2019 after her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, sued her for defamation over an op-ed she penned for The Washington Post.

In the text—published in December 2018—Amber referred to herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse,” though she didn’t include a mention of her ex’s name.
In May 2016, the mother-of-one filed for divorce from Johnny and filed a restraining order against him, claiming that the Cry Baby actor had subjected her to physical and verbal abuse throughout their relationship. Johnny Depp denied these allegations and agreed to a $7 million divorce settlement.
The op-ed sparked renewed drama between the exes, leading to a widely publicized six-week trial in 2022.
The jury ruled in favor of Johnny, awarding him over $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. Additionally, it awarded Amber $2 million for a counterclaim that stemmed from a comment made by Johnny’s lawyer, which referred to Amber’s allegations as a “hoax.”

The 3 Days to Kill actress released a statement on the day of the verdict, writing, “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence and sway of my ex-husband.”
She also said that the ruling “sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”
Since the defamation trial ended, Amber has reportedly sold her home in the town of Yucca Valley, California, to move to Spain with her daughter, Oonagh Paige, whom she had via surrogacy in April 2021.
The 38-year-old mom first moved to the island of Mallorca before settling down in the capital city of Madrid.
Amber is now reportedly living in Spain, where she has settled down with her three-year-old daughter in search of a more private life

A source close to the actress told People that, after losing the trial, Amber “felt like a pariah.”
In Spain, she’s “able to just be a mom. She’s focused on raising her daughter. She spends every day with her girl. They stroll around, visit parks, and enjoy family time. Amber is a great mom,” the source added.
Her search for privacy in Europe has reportedly made her go by a different name while residing in Mallorca: Martha Jane Cannary, the real name of American frontierswoman and sharpshooter Calamity Jane.

Despite her desire for a life away from the spotlight, Amber has expressed a wish to continue her career as an actress.
In June 2023, she starred in the independent thriller film In The Fire, which was filmed before the defamation trial.
In the movie, she plays Grace, an American psychiatrist who travels to a remote plantation in Colombia to help a boy believed to be possessed by the devil.

They are both violent offenders. I guess everyone missed Ellen Barkin's testimony about Johnny also being violent. I can't believe the number of people who just blindly sided with him and ignored the evidence against him. They brought out the worst in each other and she's the one who basically lost her entire career over it. Johnny came out unscathed. Mindblowing the things we let men get away with. And I am in no way defending her. I'm just holding them both accountable.

Not a fan of Johnny Depp. I think his very over rated and over acts and is more a caricature. But I had no idea who she was till the court case. Charlie and alcohol and matrimony are not a good combination.

She is a repeatedly violent offender. Horribly written article. She cut off her ex husband's fingertip by throwing glass bottles at him. She put a cigarette in his face. She repeatedly lied in court and used manipulated pictures. She admitted to using a bruise kit on the stand for the infamous TMZ video of her getting a restraining order, which was later dropped. Because of this article, I am never coming back to this site.

I agree, and most of the time that's what I do. I'm not sure it helps though. You'd think they'd get the message about their shopping threads when every one of them gets heavy downvoting but they keep posting them. Usually I skip shopping, AITA and celebrity gossip threads.

My mate broke up with his GF a year ago. She was jealous, controlling and abusive toward him. She convinced him to get back together after Xmas. Lucky this time he didn't give up his apartment. She had another blowup on Friday, because he got home late from work. He installs fitted kitchens self-employed so sometimes he just has to finish a job, he phoned her to say he would be late. long story, she called him over 100 times, turned up at his place trying to get in, called his parents to ask them to talk to him. Turned up at one of his jobs, now we now she could track his phone. Called me about 40 times If a guy did that he would spend a night in the local jail.

Johnny Depp has ties with Saudi Arabia who had bots flood the internet with Anti Amber messages before the trail. Consider this, everyone who knew Depp and dated him said not a single bad word against him. Amber on the other hand already had a case involving domestic violence before Depp. But sure yeah, I'm sure you're one of those people who say that women should be believed all the time, even when caught in many lies. I'm not a fan of Depp or Amber. It was obvious who was victimizing who in this case, don't let your fanboy/fangirling influence how you evaluate evidence.

hmm...do you think it was her or her publicist who put out this story & pic? maybe we would know if she included the 'meta data'. what i did see of the trial i was apparent that she tried to act her way through it; failed especially when trying to emote distress/tears. seems that she meticulously calculated her attachment to depp to exploit his publicity for herself & then when relationship was over & she realized she was becoming irreverent she put out that article. many people still can't grasp that women can be abusers & men report abuse much less than women because of this concept. while i don't wish her ill will i to hope that because she has such a volatile personality/control issues that her child will grow up happy and well where ever she lives.
