This is Alphie. He’s an old man of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is losing the use of his back legs. They don’t really know why. His mom brings him in for acupuncture and chiropractic to help. I was in the day he came for acupuncture and got to take some pictures.

Alphie’s mom is pretty worried about him and nobody really knows why his legs don’t want to work anymore. So she decided to try some acupuncture to help

Dr. Carmack is so sweet with the animals she treats.

Doesn’t it look like he’s thanking the doctor for helping him to feel better?

Look at that sweet fella being so good and so patient while he gets acupuncture needles for his shoulder. Dogs with hip issues generally have painful shoulders, too. It’s because they “front load” their weight for many years to take stress off the hips. Eventually, they wind up with really painful shoulders, too.

Ok, let’s do just a couple more.

He was curious about what I was doing while he was getting his treatment. Dr. Carmack works on all her dogs on the floor so they don’t have the added stress of being put up high. She even does house calls. I have her come to my house for my dog, Willie.

I love visiting this veterinary office! It’s mostly older pets who need extra TLC. Regular medicine has pretty much given up on them, but they find so much relief in the alternative methods.
