Italian street artist Alice Pasquini painted a message of unity as part of Millerntor Gallery #6. An annual event in Hamburg, Germany to raise funds for Viva con Agua, an organization that works to bring clean water worldwide, Pasquini was charged with painting the entrance to the Millerntor Stadium. The finished work, titled “We all swim in the same waters” comes with a special explanation from the artist, especially pertinent in our current times.
Pasquini explains, “Even before we are born, we are surrounded by water. During that time our bodies are mainly composed of water and our planet earth is primarily made of water.
As a dreamer there is only one conclusion: „We all swim in the same waters“. Despite the fact that there are too many people drowning at sea in pursuit of a better life these days, we need to continue reminding ourselves that we are all part of one world and, in this sense, part of one flow of water, never downwards, always upwards.”
