Relative’s Fiancée Steals A Precious Wedding Ceremony Moment From The Bride And Her Younger Cousin, Woman Calls Her Out And Gets Judged
Any wedding is a real commotion, especially if it takes place according to national traditions, where many guests have special, strictly defined roles that must be performed in order for everything to go well.
And it often happens that for the performance of some of the important roles, a conflict arises between relatives – and then even the bride finds it difficult to settle everything. It doesn’t matter if it’s her own wedding, the feuding relatives will always find a way to mess things up…
For example, this happened to this Redditor, whose post in the AITA community has already gained about 20.3K upvotes and more than 850 comments. The most interesting thing is that the original poster is telling the story of her own wedding, where her relatives called her a jerk.

The original poster had a traditional Punjabi wedding with a lot of different important ceremonies

So the OP had a traditional Punjabi wedding, which was attended by many relatives including the families of the wives and fiancées of her three brothers. According to Indian traditions, each wedding is a set of various ceremonies where the participants play important roles.
And so, for one of the ceremonies, where one of the roles was considered especially important, the OP chose her 18-year-old cousin, a smart and pretty girl, but at the same time a very modest one. She did so precisely because she understood that the girl herself would never even dare to ask.

OP’s cousin’s fiancée finally managed to get a role in the ceremony though the bride invited another girl
At the same time, one of the OP’s cousins’ fiancée also really wanted to play this very role at the wedding. The ambitious and proud girl was probably extremely upset she was not chosen – because she desired to feel like the center of everyone’s attention.
And so the moment of that very ceremony finally came – and how surprised the bride was when, instead of her modest cousin, the fiancée came out to the stage! However, she could not do anything, and had to bring the ceremony to an end.

The shy girl told the OP that the fiancée literally attacked her, demanding to change places with her
Later, the OP found her cousin, and it turned out that before the ceremony, the fiancée had literally attacked her, stated that she couldn’t do anything and demanded to change places with her. The girl, as the OP already noted, was very shy, so she did not inflate the conflict and simply gave up.
But the bride was already furious. She publicly claimed that the fiancée had absolutely no right to do so, and that she was extremely disappointed with her behavior. As a result, the fiancée refused to visit other ceremonies scheduled for the next day, and OP’s cousin was indignant, arguing that the bride had no right to speak with his future wife so angrily.

The fiancée’s relatives almost started a family feud
Moreover, the fiancée’s relatives later expressed a lot of bad things both about the OP’s family and the situation in general. As you can see, family feuds in the spirit of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” often originate in this way…

However, Redditors massively supported the OP, telling her she did everything absolutely right
On the other hand, in Shakespeare’s days, there was no Reddit and its commenters who massively supported the OP, stating that the fiancée shouldn’t behave so impudently at all, and the bride herself did everything right.
The fiancée tried to give a bribe to the wedding photographer just to delete all the photos taken during the ceremony
In further comments, the OP revealed that the family feud was unfolding further – for example, the photographer told her that he was offered money to simply delete all the photos from the wedding and say that the memory card was corrupted…
Redditors, however, are surprised at the bride’s restraint – for example, one of the women in the comments bluntly stated that if she were her, she would directly declare to the impudent betrothed right on the stage: “What the hell are you doing here?” In any case, as many people online believe, sooner or later the fiancée will be overtaken by karmic retribution.
And now, as always, we would be so glad to know your opinion on this situation. Or perhaps your family history contains something similar – then, even if your last name is not Shakespeare, we are definitely eager to hear about it.
The fact that cousin's fiancée was given a role suitable for her (dancing in front of crowd everyone looking at her) and STILL wanted a role with the spotlight? Wow, must be a great fiancée/s
She had the dance instructor role, front and center, for each of the three ceremonies, and still wanted more attention. How in the hêll will her wedding ever be enough, if she has a traditional Punjabi wedding, and has to share the stage with other female members of her family or the groom's family? And the attempted manipulation of the wedding photographer to delete all of the wedding photos for double the price paid for the event and to tell them the card was corrupt is a thoroughly malignant action that only someone rotted to their core would think of. If I were fiancée, I would seriously consider what type of person he is considering sharing his life with. She may have been hiding this side of herself from him but as freely as she manipulated the younger cousin at the wedding, he may already know about some of her ugly entitled behavior. Her attempt to destroy the wedding photos goes further than just being entitled, it's deranged. I hope things get better for the bride.
Load More Replies...The audacity to weasel her way into a role meant for family is unbelievable. As if that’s not enough, the bride added this to her Reddit. TLDR: “someone” asked the photographer to delete all the photos for twice what the couple paid him. “Update: Just got a call from my photographer. A woman called him from an unknown number and said she would pay him twice the amount of money I paid him if he deleted all of my wedding photos and told me that the memory card got corrupted. I honestly do not even know what is wrong with this woman, and why on earth my cousin would even consider marrying her.“ Someone said he should have said yes, given the couple the pictures, and watch the reaction when the couple shows everyone the photos.
Even if the ceremony cannot be redone, would it be possible to take some group photos imitating the ceremony, but with X sitting where she was supposed to? Imagine looking back at the pictures years from now and it's the stupid fiancee's antics that come to mind.
