Aita For Cutting Ties With A Friend Of 3 Years?

I (14F) and “Steve” (14M) recently cut ties with “Pickles” (14M) TW:Mentions:Self harm + S**icide

We’re in a special needs school and Pickles has ..many problems (home wise + mental wise which I’m not gonna get into) he would be sad all the time everyday I and some other friends who we’ll call “Bob” and “Tom” would comfort him Steve wasn’t friends with Pickles,He never liked Pickles he was friends with me,Bob and Tom now at some point before Pickles would ask me out CONSISTENTLY. every weekend for 2 months straight and each time it was getting more difficult to be polite he eventually showed me his self harm scars he’d caption then like: “Oh i did this to myself im a monster :(” and promised he’d treat me like a queen. I said no he then said he’d kill himself so I got some trusted adults involved and he left me alone he continued to be depressed every day though and I found out that MOST of his problems were fake! I was so speechless I didn’t say anything but I decided from that day onward I wasn’t going to comfort him so that was annoying until he bought UNO he was happy for 3 solid months we were all happy until he started accusing us of using him for UNO we all denied how ever I was getting incredibly irritated by Pickles and Steve saw it so he said “Why don’t we just cut Pickles off? **Unless he goes to therapy.**” I agreed because I honestly was about to slap a punching bag if i didn’t say something so we decided to wait for a day he was calm and rational we could talk it out. them I remembered he’s never happy and waited for him to say “Oh, you guys are just using me for uno..” I warned an adult about this in advance (I trust her alot we’ll call her Ruby! :) now Ruby said “as long as it all remains respectful and doesn’t escalate that’s okay” (she knew about previous situations) so I got out a little late and I found Steve and Pickles already quarrelling me and Steve are good friends so he moved so I could talk here’s how it went:

“Pickles. I am sorry but I do not want to be your friend anymore.”

Pickles: “WHY!? FOR BEING MY TRUE SELF!?”

he raised his voice when i didn’t even raise mine so I shouted back at him “IF THIS IS YOUR TRUE SELF THEN YES!” “WHAT DID I DO!?” “YOU FAKED SO MANY OF YOUR PROBLEMS! AND IM DONE TRYING TO HELP YOU SORT THEM!” “WHEN I WAS A LITTLE BOY!?”

“9 MONTHS AG-” by this point teachers came, asked me why i did that she then asked me “Do you think you could’ve been kinder?” I said no and Steve said I should go compose myself for a bit Tom and Bob followed asked us how we were before heading back to Pickles (who was shouting slurs and telling me and Steve to go kill ourselves) Me and Steve got called “bullies” by a member of staff and Pickles told Steve about some revenge plan but 2 weeks later Pickles apologised how ever it was half hearted & sounded wayyy too fake here’s how it went (I’m calling MYSELF Cheddar and I’m sorry for rambling its just on my mind 🥲)

Pickles: “I’m sorry Steve-”

Steve: “I never considered you a friend. you should be apologising to Cheddar”

Pickles: “Cheddar. I’ve spent a week on this apology- Oh my goodness this is harder then I thought it’d be” he started putting his head in his hands as per usual “I-I’m sorry and I understand if you need time to forgive me I just hope we can rebuild..GOSH HAVING (private info) IS HARD!” he then started to breathe shakily which I was use to so I didn’t really care so I said “I’ll CONSIDER accepting however I do NOT want to be friends again. I MIGHT unblock your number that dosen’t mean I will though so keep that in mind” “I understand..” my family think I’m being harsh and should just accept. AITA? (It’s sorted now it’s just been on my mind for awhile and now Bob + Tom want to do smth similar..)
