ConservatoryLand launches 60-second AI generated video offering a snapshot into ten decades of living room design.

– 100 AI-generated high res images were created. Each still image took 2 minutes to produce

– The time-lapse video was created in 4 hours

– The overall AI-led production process took 4 hours compared to the 37 hours of conventional production process

– Design Director Emma Rose comments: “AI has a place in the creative process whether that’s generating ideas, or doing some of the heavy lifting on the more mundane processes.”

ConservatoryLand has created an AI-Generated video showcasing the 100 Years Of Interior Design. From the images to the sounds, this time-lapse video has been created exclusively using AI tools.

Leading the production of this creative piece is Design Director Emma Rose who has over 15 years’ experience within the creative industry.

The video proves AI and manpower can create outstanding pieces:

The video was created using Stable Diffusion Videos and later on edited and put together by Rose using Adobe Premiere.

60 seconds of background music created using Soundful.

The production

Typically this format of time-lapse would have taken several resources including finding locations and furniture to replicate the trends, hiring photographers and photo editors however, The 100 Years Of Interior Design video only took an overall of 4 hours to be created.

Rose comments: “I definitely think it has a place in the creative process currently, whether that’s generating ideas, or doing some of the heavy lifting on the more mundane processes. “

The benefits of AI for the world of designers and interior design

Commenting on how AI can impact the creative design scene, Rose said: “I’ve actually seen designers and art directors get better at briefing other designers because they have developed their AI prompting skills. AI needs a lot more instruction and guidance than humans. Therefore, people are getting better at writing briefs all round, for example defining specific styles or moods, or just generally giving enough context to be able to do the job.”

Another benefit is “The ability to generate some ideas for mood boards and inspiration. This is particularly helpful for interior designers because they can generate all sorts of style ideas from colour schemes, to patterns, to textures, as well as historical inspiration.”

Top three AI tools to work with

Rose says: “My favourite has to be image generation, and for me, the best is Midjourney, although Stable diffusion and DALLE 2 are also great. My current top 3 tools for my own usefulness it would be:

Midjourney – Image generation

ChatGPT – Copy generation

LeiaPix Converter – Adds depth and animation to still images

“However, new tools are being developed every day and there are loads of upcoming tools. In terms of interior design for example, RoomGPT might be something that people would like to check out – it takes an image of your current room and shows you how it could look in different styles.”

Hey there, Pandas! My name is Diana (though some prefer to refer to me as Diane, Deanna, and even Liana sometimes), and I am a Community Post Moderator Lead for Bored Panda. As my position title states, I am one of the people (employed Pandas for bamboo) over here who work with the community side of things on this website to ensure all is well, and while at that, I also help various creators and artists get recognition for the incredible work they do by connecting them to a large worldwide audience. Other than that, outside of work, you can find me brewing a nice cup of coffee, making a pizza from scratch, or baking brownies. I also love traveling, concerts, and cats (heavy on that, because I am a cat mom).
