The story of Afghanistan began with the occupation of the Soviet Union, and then the role of extremist groups in it.

The situation began to worsen with the intervention of the United States of America in Afghanistan and its occupation in 2001.

Women were the first victims of these extremist groups and occupations.

What led to her marginalization and prevented her from even the right to education.

These pictures show some differences between the past and present of Afghan women.

I have a hard time watching what's going on in Afghanistan now. The raw fear and panic makes my gut clench.

And example of why organised religion (any not islam) is a cancer to our society and promotes violence and opression for a big part of the population. Governments need to be laic and have 0 relation to religions to ensure the civil rights of their citizens.

Potatogamer is right. You lot don't understand what eastern Islamic culture is like at all. The Taliban are BARBARIC and forcing women to dress like this is 100% wrong but why is this the sole indicator of what progress in these countries looks like????? Women in these countries especially outside the cities wore full or partial head coverings anyway regardlesss of who was in charge. Every single one of these photos is focused on what the women before the Taliban wore. Where are pictures of women studying? Working? Playing sports? Riding a bicycle? Where are the men??? Or do u think it's just women who have it bad? A single comment is not enough to explain why we Muslims have a problem with this kind of thinking and I already know I'm gonna get downvoted for this.
