Look at the Great Wall of China. It was built to keep out Mongols and other unwanted people. That worked out well - it wasnt like Gengis Khan with friends stopped dead in front of the wall and said "darn, we has no other choise but go home empty handed ". Some historians says that - besides doing s**t in the long run - it did help to topple a whole country because of the costs (both to build, defend and maintain).

Walls never ever have worked. Even the Great Wall of China, that makes Trump's wall look like a garden fence, is now just a tourist attraction, as are the Berlin Wall, Hadrian's Wall, the walls in Israel... please can anyone enlighten us with a wall that does work?

If everybody is focused on the wall and the government shutdown, or abortion, or "deep state", then business can go on as usual. Beware of make-up "important" pseudo-political topics that simply create a shield to hide the really important decisions that are made with no scrutiny or open discussions. When politicians plaster emotional response issues all over the place the safe guess is that they are using it to hide something that has to do with a lot of money and/or will have far-reaching consequences.

I have to admit, I oppose the wall for selfish reasons. Republicans have been complaining about having to pay for other peoples' food, shelter and medical care through taxes. I just don't want to pay for someone else's silly wall.

She's good. I just wish more was said about animal migration and habitats being destroyed. All just collateral damage, as are Federal employees. However, the wall is a smoke screen for selling the US to Russia. All we need now is for a civil uprising of all those who threaten to do so when impOTUS is impeached and found guilty. I am just assuming here that the people that built it probably didn't go home after an 8 hour shift, weekends off, overtime and fair pay? What about workers comp. Unions?
