Tom Hardy Posts Emotional Tribute For His Dog Who Just Passed Away, And People Are Drowning In Tears

London-born actor Tom Hardy has stolen many ladies hearts and won over many movie connoisseurs with his astounding performances in movies ranging from Mad Max to the historical Dunkirk. But there’s much more to Tom Hardy than just being a famous actor and a heartthrob.

The actor has just shared the devastating news that his beloved pet dog Woodstock passed away – and people all over the world are saying they’re crying for the canine they ‘haven’t even met.’

Hardy was in a car when they nearly ran over the 11-week-old Woodstock. The famous actor decided to stop his car and go after him.

Since that moment, the two have been inseparable – remember, Hardy even attended the premiere of the film Legend back in 2015 with the famous dog by his side.

So, when Woodstock recently died of aggressive polymyositis after six years of companionship, Hardy was full of praise for his dog. “I am ultimately grateful for his loyal companionship and love, and it is of some great comfort that he is no longer suffering. Above all, I am completely gutted. The world for me was a better place with him in it and by my side.”

So next time you watch one of Tom Hardy’s movies, remember that he’s not just an image in your screen, he’s also a profound human being. Scroll down below to read the sad story for yourself.

Tom, I grieved terribly when my Barney was taken away suddenly. I went almost nine months before finding another four-legged baby. But don't do that. Find another sweet fellow and he/she will help you get over your grief far better.

My dog died April 15, 2016 at 9:06, and my family can't look at other dogs without thinking of her. I loved her till the end.

There is not much in the world that compares to the love we feel for our dogs nor the pain we feel when they leave us. With each one of mine passing I would swear to never go through it again, that pain. But soon it lifts just enough to let yet another come into my life and I feel that special love only a dog can give.

Same with me. A piece of me dies with every dog of mine that passed and I always says never again. But I always find another dog who needs me and who I need. Dogs rule. I'm glad Tom shared his story of Woodstock so he knows how many people understand how he feels. It's almost unbearable to lose a dog.

"how lucky am I to have something that makes saying good-bye so hard". We don't deserve the purity of their love, and the grief is a small price to pay for it, for sure.

My sweet Bladey passed in August 2016. I miss her every single day and I know her brother does too. We went through a good 6 months of Buddy losing weight and increased cortisol...it was stress from losing her (he's better now). She was my little girl - amazing, intelligent, funny, and so full of character. Your letter made me cry because I get it. Completely. You will see Woodstock again, just like I'll see my Bladeygirl. (I had several names for her too). My heart goes out to you and your family, and all who loved him.

This is beautiful and heart wrenching. I've had dogs all my life. I can't live without one. When they passed it was like a razor blade on my heart. I'm in old fartdom now and I still miss all my babies. Their pictures are all over my apartment! For the past 10 yrs or so I've been a foster for some poochies. I currently have Harley, a rescue Schitzu. I shouldn't admit this but sometimes my Harley gets breakfast in bed!

I know EXACTLY how he feels. My "Velcro Boy," Max, died two months ago and it's still VERY painful, I don't think I'll ever get over it. He too was found running the streets of Las Vegas. A friend asked me to look after him for a night and about a half hour after he entered my home, HE was home. Unlike you, with only 6 years with Woody, Max was with me for the next 14 years and he filled my life with love and devotion. I've had eight dogs in the last 47 years but Max was SPECIAL. :'( Go have a romp with my boy, Woodstock. I wish every dog was as loved as you and my Max! <3

Words could NEVER express the ultimate unconditional "TRUE" love we give and get from our pets. I lost one of my best friends 3 years ago and I ended up in the hospital because I did not think I could go on without him. I had adopted a puppy when I learned my LOVE was in heart failure and it was the best thing I could have done. They were together for a year and now this one is already 4 and a half and he reminds me of the one I lost as almost the same breed. I will always have that SPECIAL one forever in my heart but knowing the LOVE GOD has for all of his creatures I WILL see him again one day I know it. I can't wait but right now I have another great one to love and take care of and spoil. My heartfelt prayers, thoughts and everything else goes to you as it has to be one of the hardest things someone can go through it is like losing your child. With Our blessings, Laurielynne and Cherubfranklyn
