So, I would like to tell you a story about my friends and I who spent a year dreaming to become very rich people but we’ve earned just enough money for three burgers. But we also gained a lot of good experience in mobile game development.
A year ago one of my friends who was interested in LitRPG said: “Do you remember the books from school with multiple choice? Books with different story lines, in which the reader can affect the ending? Let’s do something like that ourselves in digital form for smartphones. We will be millionaires and we will go to Bali!”
And I’ve remembered that my friend from Yekaterinburg Sergey Soloviov is a good LitRPG writer, not famous, but he has great dreams and cool imagination.
So, it’s said and done. Sergey has written a story about a hard life of a dwarf named Dargut whose calm life was destroyed. He lost everything: his family, his home, his life… He remained alone in the world, which was attacked by alien invaders. In an attempt to end his own life, he walked into a fire, but this only doomed him more. He was trapped between two worlds in the hands of the Firelord.
And we decided to offer the role of the omnipotent and bloodthirsty demon to our future players. We’ve chosen a form of phone chat, that’s why dwarf write messages to Firelord. A bit stupid but funny, I think.
We spent three months developing and testing our app. And finally, me and my friends (don’t forget – we are future millionaires) have released our first text quest for smartphones “Steel Sunset” on the Google Play store. We decided to translate the dwarf’s story from Russian to English.
We didn’t even think about marketing and PR. Now I decide to write here for the whole world to know about our great creature!
Sure – I need your review. You can download it in Google Play or App Store (just find Steel Sunset).
Sure, we didn’t earn money for tickets to Bali, we could only buy three McDonald’s burgers. The first one was sent to Yekaterinburg for our author, the second one – to Ryazan, and the third one we shared with my friend who suggested the idea of creating a questbook. It was very delicious!
