The A-rem community is a small indigenous group of the Chut ethnic people. I`ve spent some time with them during my trip in Bo Trach district. In 1956 they were found living in the caves. Goverment settled them in a small village, but they still can`t forget the caves for various reasons. They live in a simple way based on hunting, gathering and fishing. Because they love to watch movies I`ve downloaded some promo videos from my country to show them. They were delighted and watched them twice. A-rem elders still miss the caves, but young A-rem beloved smartphones and motorbikes a lot. It`s hardly to catch the mobile signal in the village, so they just watch videos and listen music all day long. During the flood, valuable timber was washed away with the flood water. They `ve found it and sold it in the city. Bought some motorbikes, but didn`t know where to go so they just run around the village. Nobody has a driving licence. Most of them are illiterate. Amazing community, very friendly, helpfull and talkative. Even when we speak two different languages :) Worth seeing.
