Yes, I'm straight and proud of it. She, my fiancee, is asexual (we've been together for 13 years, lived together for 12, engaged for 3). We enjoy eachothers company and have fun every day. I work at a company that is LGBT-certified by the state, and we have housing and apartments all over the country for the elderly, people with self-harm problems and any and all types in the LGBT-spectrum (12000 employees). This is what I'm working with every day. So I'm straight, and I'm proud to be straight. Saying that straight isn't a sexuality just defy's pretty much every logic. Also, calling someone homophobic or transphobic just because they're proud of their sexuality (i.e straight) is f-ing stupid, it doesn't mean I dislike or hate any other sexuality, it doesn't automagically mean that I'm against anything else. It just mean that I, just like you, am proud of what I am and what I identify as - IT IS that simple. Stop bullying straights, we exist also, and we support you.
I’m not LGBTQ but I don’t understand the reason why a majority of people are not accepting to those who are.
In developed countries most people are accepting, sometimes so much so that activism is seen as unnecessary fanfair! Personally I don't like that the pride movement has seen fit to expand on the original LGB message, as it's naive to think that everyone that LGBTQ+ covers have much in common; as they quite often don't.
