A Boyfriend Doesn’t Appreciate His Girlfriend’s Gift, But Instead Other Men Love It
The time before boyfriend’s birthday is the toughest time of the year. He is such a picky guy that finding a gift for him is a big challenge. During my search I stumbled across an ad poster featuring a bearded man with small pink bows clipped all over his beard. He looked hilarious yet intriguing, and reminded me how in spring I braided flowers in my boyfriend’s beard. In that moment I realized that a beard jewel would be the coolest gift ever! My search turned into a desperation when I couldn’t find anything other than Viking looking beard beads and rings, which wouldn’t suit my boyfriend style. Being a hands-on person with a jewelry design background, I decided to make a beard accessory myself. I experimented with different clipping ideas and shapes for a beard jewel, while my boyfriend wondered what was this mysterious ‘design project’ that I was spending most of my time on. I managed to finish just in time, but to my biggest surprise my boyfriend did not appreciate his gift. He said that the idea was cool, but the design was not quite there yet and resisted from wearing it. I showed the jewel to my bearded friends and one of them loved it so much that I decided to give it to him. Shortly after, I started getting beard jewelry requests from other beardsmen, and beard jewelry making turned into my hobby. To keep up with the demand I launched a Kickstarter campaign, which was successfully funded, and led me to the establishment of my beard jewelry brand – Krato. Today Krato consists of several collections including luxurious beard crystals, anchors and skulls. There is also a custom-design option, and I always keep working on expanding the collections. Bearded men all over the world are wearing Krato beard jewels, except for my boyfriend, who still has to wait for his next birthday. His birthday is coming up, and after almost a year of beard jewelry expertise, I wonder if he will appreciate my gift this time?
