There are many opinions about which decade was the best for music, but many would agree that it might have been the ’80s. Today we’re looking at 25 releases – from synth-pop to glam-metal – and trying to remember when each song was released.
Yeah I only got 11, and some of them were guesses, TBH. The problem is that those of us who lived through that period have another 40 years of memories on top of all of those, so the years all merge together. Only those with an association with a specific event have a chance of being year-perfect. The rest are like, yeah, was living at that house, remember it on that holiday, at that place of work, but could have been recent or from a year or two earlier,..
If I'd been in high school or college I might have done fairly well, because it's easier if you can relate a past event to other significant events. Once you're out of college those significant events seem to be a bit less common. And, of course, every one of those songs is from at least 35 years ago and a couple or almost 45. If you thought a song from '81 was from '83 that 2 years is an error of less than 5%.
