I spent the past 12 months reading nothing but horror. Why? Because why not, right? I liked most of the books I read. But most of them didn’t scare me, not even a teeny bit.

On the upside, there were 7 horror books that scared the crap out me. And after spending a year on this crazy project of mine, I knew I needed to share the best horror books! Just don’t blame me if you get nightmares after reading any of these, lol.

Pet Sematary by Stephen King

Holy crap was this tense! I don’t think I took more than a few breaths the entire time. Read it now before the Netflix movie comes out.

Hell House by Richard Matheson

Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury

I thought this would be a simple ghost story like Paranormal Activity. It wasn’t. Filled with so much grief and craziness that I might need therapy, lol.

We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver

Take a tip from me – don’t read this book when your wife is pregnant with your first child. We crossed Kevin off our list of possible names really quickly, lol.
