We 3D-Printed A Chess Set With Tiny Flower Pots As Chess Pieces

Our micro-planter chess set is about fusing 3D printing and nature. We are trained architects – Kae Woei and Elena try, who try to find humour in designs, by adding a little element of playfulness in day-to-day products.

Chess pieces allow nature lovers to integrate their favorite succulents or herbs into the chess board. Each Chess piece can be planted with specific herbs or succulents to give them a level of individuality and personality. This also allows the player to assign unique textures, colors and smell to the pieces. Use some Corsican Mint to bring some minty freshness into you game, or perhaps a series of hard wearing cacti if you don’t have a green thumb.

The chess pieces and 0.6mm thick chess mat can be downloaded and printed from here.
