Hi! My name is Imre Zoltan Nemeth and I am an architect living in Budapest, Hungary. I am interested in many forms of art (photography, video, animation and graphic design). In this article, I want to show you my miniature world creations.

The perspective of the world of tiny people motivated me to create some unique moments with them. I also wanted to make these moments come to life, that’s why I animated some of my pictures (I enjoyed it so much no matter how long it took to make them).

I’m an architect with a full-time job at an engineering company, but I also work on films in my spare time (as a grip or as an animator on animation films or as a drone pilot) and now I’m learning movie scriptwriting because I’m also interested in storytelling.

I came up with an idea to create scenes featuring tiny people interacting with everyday objects from our world when I saw an article with a Hungarian photographer who made some pictures with tiny railway model figures. I thought I can also do that. So I searched where I could buy these figures and I’ve started to collect them.

It takes a couple of hours to make a tiny world photo. Of course, It depends on where I want to take that photo. If I have to go outside to search for the right flower or use my brother’s turtle, it could take longer. But for me, the real challenge is to make live versions of the photos - to create a video from a photo. I’ve animated some of my photos and it takes much more time than just to take a photo. To make a 10-second-long animation with sound editing takes a whole weekend for me. You can see my videos here if you're interested.

I look for inspiration everywhere. I always find interesting things when I make my weekly shopping spree at the supermarket and also when I tidy up my flat. I usually find something useful for my next photograph.

I enjoy the flow which I get in during the process. Creating is fun, and if I am happy with what I’ve created I’m sure that there will be someone else who will also like my work, I just have to find that person!
