Meet Winston. He is a cattle dog who also happens to have the rare condition heterochromia which causes his eyes to be different colours. It is this special characteristic and Winston’s goofy nature that made him the perfect candidate to inspire my new work ‘The School Portrait Project’.

Running through Winston’s gallery after his session with me at my studio in Melbourne I was tickled pink to see how many different expressions this little man produced. What a character!

Upon compiling them all together I noticed how it reminded me of school portraits of kids and the pain parents go through when they receive them back to find their hard earned money has bought them a portrait of their beloved child with their eyes crossed. From here ‘The School Portrait Project’ was born.
