In today’s divisional climate, there comes a children’s book that promotes unity by giving a universal answer to the burning question, ‘Where am I from?’
A street artist, Platon, a writer, Elisavet Arkolaki, and Faraxa Publishing, have now launched a crowdfunding campaign to create the very first street art illustrated picture book for children. The book depicts a fun, educational, and artistic journey that is told through the eyes of children from all six continents, with the youngest ‘country-less’ child delivering the answer to the burning question.
Street art is a tool for asking difficult questions and expressing concerns on crucial problems with society, which is in par with the story. ‘Where am I from?’ kid’s book brings home the concept that we are more alike than we are different.
What better way than a picture book with a universal theme and positive message, packed with lovely street art wall murals, to introduce such concepts to our young ones?
To compliment this meaningful art form even further and contribute to our multicultural societies, visitors who share the crowdfunding campaign on their social media can download for free the essential guide ‘How to Raise Confident Multicultural Children’ written with full chapter contributions by international experts in the field + 2 more short stories by the author.
Rewards for backers include digital and hardback covers of the beautiful art-filled book, the possibility of having the main characters painted after the contributor and their child, hand-drawn portraits, and accompanying lesson plans.
The crowdfunding campaign will be live till 15/08/2018. Throughout this page, we feature various colorful paintings that the artist has painted in the past to showcase his talent.
