As a self-proclaimed urban explorer slash ghost hunting enthusiast, Bannack, Montana has been on my list for ages. In the summer of 1862, prospectors discovered gold in Willard Creek and founded Bannack, Montana. By the autumn of 1864, more than 10,000 people called Bannack "home". The gold started running out in 1870 and the population dropped to a few hundred inhabitants. Hopeful prospectors hung on for decades, panning less and less gold.
They completely abandoned Bannack in the 1940s, leaving behind haunting reminders of what it once was. I was able to visit the ghost town in May of 2019 and photographed some of the buildings they left behind.

Wow..weren't you scared? I would not go into a house like this. There has to be residents of the ghosts.
