Most Hated Railway Puts 15-Year-Old In Charge Of Their Twitter Account, And Things Escalate Quickly
Beleaguered UK railway company Southern Rail isn't exactly used to good press these days. Industrial disputes, reduced services, and late-running trains have seen public anger at the rail firm grow exponentially over the last year, but all of that seems to have been temporarily forgotten thanks to an unlikely savior in the form of a 15-year-old student called Eddie.
Southern Rail have recently put the teenager, who's currently on work experience at the firm, in charge of the company's Twitter account, and it seems like people can't get enough of his cheery charm. He's even spawned a hashtag - #askeddie - thanks to his willingness to answer all sorts of weird and wonderful questions that the public have been throwing at him. Putting Eddie in charge has been one of the most popular decisions the rail company has made in quite awhile. Let's just hope they offer him a job!

sorry I kinda like this one{since I kinda know why no one commented on it}, I only know who those people are in passing cause no one shuts up about that show, Not everyone watches it, for some of us, it's as dreadful and dreadful as the news
I don't think it's dreadful, but when people talk about the series like it's high-stakes politics I'm like "Lol, don't care".
Load More Replies...Game of Thrones talk at the office is akin to Sports talk, I don't watch or participate in either.
John Snow is a British news presenter.
Load More Replies...So clever. (Notice he doesn't actually suggest which type of chair would be *less* steady? Guy's a natural diplomat!)
Eddie goes to twitter when he's at work at the railway station. My guess is he likes twitter more.
It's a great white And no chance! If the shark wanted to catch him it would without hesitation!
Australia again hi Eddie. The original Ringo Starr version or the remake?
I love the way he bounces these back - asking "You?" on the end. A nice way to extend a convo, or signal that his answer is personal, not absolute.
200 grams per person!? I live in Italy and thats a lot of pasta ofr only 1 person
A woodchuck would chuck all the the wood that a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood
You gotta love this fearless kid. he just says whatever comes to mind and he is a funny kid!
Ok, but has asking weird questions changed anything about the late-running trains?
Ok, cool, the kid has a sense of humour and patience, for now ;) I get it improves the PR rating, but it doesn't improve the rails service. So unless that goes along with Twitter, it's just gonna be an episode.
Well, to be fair, he was supposed to be answering questions related to the rail service, people just aren't doing that.....because that's ow Twitter works. ;)
Load More Replies...Funny. But not as funny as waiting 2 hours stranded at a station because all the trains were cancelled :/
That's why he is there... So you can read his tweets for those two hours while stranded... Customer service at it's best ;)
Load More Replies...Eddie will probably make #askeddie his job when he leaves school. He's already got a following. It d be bad for Southern Rail when his tenure expires.
I've wondered how long it would take companies to recognize who can do what's popular now. Of course it's going to be someone who is of the now. Nice going Eddie at #askeddie
That old Meatloaf song joke is annoying. He says what 'that' is during the song: Sooner or later you'll be screwing around I won't do that No, I won't do that Anything for love But I won't do that
#9 It's sad that he missed the Monty Python and the Holy Grail reference. Well, he's a kid.
That film was released 41 years ago, and he's only 15. I saw it on first release. God, I'm getting old :(
Load More Replies...He seems to be a very bright young man, certainly brighter than I was at that age.
