As children age, most go through different phases and stages. These stages can be short-lived or permanent. The different phases can be slow-to-show, or so fast they make your head spin. At age 12, one tween may love k-pop and karaoke. Next thing you know, it is emo-time and heavy metal. However, when a student becomes a senior in high school, their personalities begin to set in and shine. They start to think about adulthood, college fun, careers, and (of course) beach days and vacays.
Many seniors want to make their last days of high school ones to remember. Also, to leave an imprint to be remembered. One way for them to leave their mark is with their senior quote. Each statement is supposed to summarize who they are or what is important to them. They should be (but not always are) unique to each individual.
These proclamations can range from heartfelt to hilarious. Their quote can also derive from something somebody said that resonated with them. One thing for sure is if you pick up a yearbook, you are bound to laugh a little. (Possibly get offended.)
Here are 14 senior quotes that make it hard to keep a straight face.
Valid Point.
Many people prioritize fitting in and keeping up with trends. The downside to this? The majority of these people live outside of their means. Results are debt, stress, lack of confidence, and even causing the continuation of generational poverty.
Glad that this young man gets it.
Gratitude and Honesty.
She is gracious enough to show appreciation and humble enough to give credit where credit is due.
Wise Words.
Truer words have never been said, in my opinion. I wish more people realized this.
A Matter of Opinion.
As a teen, I wanted to drive fast. When I got older, I wished I could slow time down. At least this teen is smart enough to drive safely.
Politics in Yearbooks.
Not connecting the dots, I did not realize this was a political statement until after my morning coffee. (Major face-palm moment!)
How Uniq… Waaaiiitt a Minute!
So, it seems that the student on the bottom of the page did not think about the alphabetical order they would be placed in.
There are no words.
Well, there are not any words to articulate the things going through my brain as I read this.
Or…
You can do both!
As a parent, I smiled with pride and cried because graduation means that your baby is no longer a baby.
One might say.
One might say that this young man was ready to make his way in the world.
Poetic and admirable…
My inner voice sounds like Nicki Minaj as I read this…
I will just leave this here.
Not quite sure how to… I mean, does he… I will just pass on commenting.
Where to Begin?
Some lyrics are meant to be sung… alone… not around children… or teens… or adults, for that matter.
Proud Daughter
I know this senior and her mom. The context that made this quote possible was just as hilarious. Her mother was getting ready for a date. While showering, right in the middle of shaving, the power and water went out briefly. Since her mom was starting to stress already about being late, her daughter decided to help. She told her mom she laid out an outfit, shorts, to be exact. That was when her mom yelled, “I’m not leaving this house with anything half shaved. Go big or go bald!”
