Buying a new dress online can be quite a big deal. As online shopping today provides us with a convenient way to buy different goods, including clothing, more people opt for buying online without actually seeing the product themselves. While it seems a great option, buying a dress online may fail all your expectations.
Here I collected 13 vivid examples of dress fails from a review website, PissedConsumer.com, to highlight the expectations vs. reality scenarios of online purchases.
I’ve researched shoppers’ complaints to showcase to you the worst scenarios with dress orders online.
So, just remember that online shopping requires some research from you. Always read online reviews before buying your next dress from the store. Learn more about quality, service, and return policies from previous customers. It might help you avoid disappointment with dresses and save you from such purchase failures.

Share on FacebookStop buying online dresses and most clothes. There is a reason cl9thes shops have dressing rooms
well established stores have a return policy and shopping online, at least for me, is the only way to find something. Most physical stores don't carry tall sizes and therefore I have to get them online, but of course they are from well known brands and not cheap ripoffs and I can always return them and get a refund if they don't fit
Load More Replies...Don't order from China. Don't expect couture quality for 49.95. Plan ahead and go to a local seamstress.
This is why I avoid sites like aliexpress, wish etc. like the plague. What they usually do is take a photo from a legitimate seller to use as a product image, and then fabricate a poor quality estimation based on that photo (look up Bernadette banner's video 'Buying a knockoff of my own dress', she had it happen to her). If you're unsure about the legitimacy of a product/price seems too good to be true the best thing you can do is reverse image search that image to try and find where it came from. If it's from an actual seller you will end up paying more but at least you know you will be getting what you ordered.
Many of the sites mentioned are third or forth party agents that is why the customers can't get refunds. Also, customers need to consider their own shape. What looks great on a tall, willowy size 8 will look entirely different on a short, curvy size 14. I have been buying online for years with only one disappointment, maybe I'm just lucky.
yes but people should know by now that if you buy off a shady website for a price that wouldn't even cover the material for a high quality dress that you may not be receiving what you are hoping for.. not all the time of course (had my wedding dress custom tailored in Indonesia to fit my tall shape, it was beautiful and quite inexpensive compared to regular wedding dressed) but it's not too difficult to spot the black sheep
